Out whole identity is through the form of the our State. Every teluguite is regognized. But if state seperates then Telangana will be Urdu state.
All telugus will don't have a voice.
Think.Seperate state will not get any thing. Only greedy politicians will get their positions and money

India should be split in such a way that every house is one state. So will have more than 100 million states. Each person of the house should be able to collect tax from his house (state) members. you can choose members of the house (wife/children/parents/siblings) to be in your cabinet ministry and recruit some of them to daily tasks and pay them (pocket money). you can have elections every 5 years, where you will be the only candidate. You can still do booth capturing in your own house, to make sure that all your members (family members) vote for you. If there is a rebellion in your house, you can ask him/her to register her own state (house) and rule that state.

Problem of states solved!!!!

If there is popular movement, and if that can sustain financially, then Parliament should create that state. In both the cases Telangana is eligible to be a state and Parliament should create it.

Only Hyderabadi muslims speak Urdu(some of them biligual). Outside Hyderabad, all most all the muslims speak Telugu. According to wikipedia, 11%(about 80lakhs) of AP population is Muslim of which about 20lakhs are in Hyderabad. Telangana pupulation is about 3 crores. Pouplation of AP i about 7 crores. Now, you make the calculation.

Get your facts right. Urdu is popular in Muslims of Hyderabad only. In rural areas muslims speak Telugu. BTW, 12% Telanganites are mulsims. Biggest concentration of muslims is in Hyderabad city. You don't have to worry Telangana becoming urdu state. Anyways we should not neglect interests of any section of society including muslims.

Divide like sub-continent in the name of self-determination,
by subrahmanyam jamisetty on May 15, 2009 12:21 AM  | Hide replies

why cant we give Jammu and Kashmir,Why cant we give away Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, whole of North east freedom from India.
Until the British came there is no Country called India, they were 1000 princely states and a falling Mughal Empire always fighting with eachother.
We are fighting with eachother from time immemorial, it is very easy to divide and rule a country like India.
from 1857 to 1947 freedom figthers want to die for the sake of being called an Indian.
Some illetrates do not realise this, with our large poppulation we have enough problems to tackle.
Divide we are not a force, see what happened after Jarkhand is formed, highly infested for Naxalism.
Our fore fathers have divided the states on language basis, will these so called supporters guarantee that Telengana wont get divided into North, South, West or East on some pretext in future, what does that boil to...it's going to take us to 2000 years back, who are the loosers, the common man who cant blog on internet. When you are trying to divide think of the greater implications, is hyderbad not part of Telengana, people Uttar Kannada in Karnataka speak Konkanese and they should have a seperate state..why are they not asking..isn't there disparties in all states not just Andhra?.

What happens when the state is formed when it has 14 or 15 MP's, 5 * 3 for each party(definitely they are going to be minimum 5 parties), can you speak anything in the house? so whom are you guys cheating its not you or your family..it

FYI, 17 states are smaller than Telangana(both in area and size). Telangana is about the size of Kerala in population, and is bigger than Bihar in area. Telangana have resources to sustain as state unlike many of the North estern states and JK. First States reorganization report recommneded to keep Telangana as seperate state.

do you guarantee that telengana wont get divided in the future?

do you guarantee a single party wins and becomes a force that it will develop the state?

boss it was 50 years back, things are changing even for a year,

what will happen for a country with so much complexity if another 15 states want to divide its states in future. you know where are we going 1000 princely states, who is going to take over.....Naxalism, climate change, disease, water shortage, basic hygene.

i'am not in favour of Andhra or Telengana...i want to live my life spreading awareness on Greening, Lake development, Strong Military, and an efficient Internal Security system rather than, why you need to stay as one state.

when you are sending 42 MP's means you are a force and you getting due share in policy formulations. Send efficient MP's from your region and develop the region, dont dent the Union, it is going to create spiraling effect,

A Great king abandoned military, which lead us to downfall, forming 10000 countries,

Some Opportunists Instigated religion, we payed the price,

It is a blessing to have diversity, and it is lucky to be born in a democratic counrty which has this richness

spend you ink on matters very urgent to your family, village, city, Country and the world.

Our generation has so much work to do, we have cleanup the planet, plan for our water and food shortages.

How about being a country like we have in Europe and Gulf regions.

Think like a Indian before you start talking about your state.

Once Telangana is created, you will see more crime and relirion based politics. By the time you try to come out of it, the global warming is already done and the natural resources you are talking about will be lost for sure.

VP Singh and Arjun Singh divided based on caste.

Mr Ravula,
Calling people from Andhra "Parasites" is WRONG it is plain rubbish. India is a Democracy and all people have equal rights. This gives no authority to anyone to falsely accuse people from other areas. I don't care about what happens in Telangana but calling people from other areas names makes people from Telangana no different from Mr Thackarey Junior and his goons in Mumbai. If you have grudge against few people that is fine but calling people of the whole region parasites is "unacceptable".
Let me ask you one question Where did all the money to develop Hyderabad come from? I don't expect an answer from you or the looser who posted before you and I don't care if Hyderabad goes to Telangana. It will not be the end of the world.
There are thousand other counter accusations that you and I can make but what is the purpose? The people are and will suffer, not political parties who do anything to get power. God help my people and my Country.

by Girish Sharma on May 14, 2009 11:25 PM  | Hide replies

It is very difficult to make predictions as regard voters in India. Their perpective is not the same which used to be there a decade ago. Definitely today's voter is more mature. He can see the reality associated with different parties and leaders.
Exit pole surveys often are not conducted properly with lower strata of the society. It is this lower strata that plays a significant role.
In urban areas Congress may fare well. In rural areas BJP will dominate.

When When Bomby state split into Gujarat and Maharastra; id did bombay becoame Union territory? When Andhra state seperated from Madras state, did Madra became union territory? Hyderabad was part of Telangana before it was merged with Andhra state in 1956 to create Andhra pradesh state. Don't be unreasonable fellow. Telangana state does not mean All non Telanganites will have to leave Telangana or Hyderabad. It just means Telanganites will have self rule. This is the same thing when Andhrites wanted when they wanted to seperate from Madras state(for which Potti sriramulu gave his life). BTW, Potti Sriramulu's struggle is nothing to do with Telangana.

Beofore Bombay state was split into 2 states, Bombay city was deveoped by british using the taxes from everybody including Gujarathis. where as Hyderabad was 5th largest city by the time Talangana (and Hyderabad) was merged with Andhra state(Telugu speaking areas of Madras state). Telangana has more right on Hyderabad compared to Maharastra on Bombay. Nobody ever dare to ask to make bombay as union territory. I guess Telanganites are mellow and taking all this crap from Adnhrites. This kind unreasonable things will create bad feelings between telanganites and andhrites.

It's funny that you are talking as you know history.
Hyderabad was in 5th largest city in India (in area, development, facilities) in 1947 or even before Telangana was merged into AP. Before Telangana was merged in AP Hyderabad had biggest university, Under ground drainage facility, Hospitals, Libraries, Assembly, Lakes and water facilities you keep on listing you found everthing in HYD. Under AP rule now Hyderabad is not even 6th largest city in India in development. There are developments in HYD afterwards but they are part of our daily life lie building mall's and shops are this is not called development. IT firms are developed by giving Telangana lands not ANdhra's. Telangana region was first in India with government land and this land came to AP from Nizams lands. Now you hardly find any land for gov in Telangana region.
If you want to talk about development then look at cities like Vizag, Vijayawada which were not even treated as town before freedom now they are compared with HYD. That is called as development. Under AP rule all andhra region was developed and neglected Telangana region.
First make Vizag, Vijayawada as Union territories then come to us.

Look at the facts. States that you are referring Capitals was in the sate where it now belongs to. It was not like Mumbai was in Gujarat state but formed as capital of Maharastra. Same as with other states.

If you go around from HYD you will not enter into ANdhra region not less than 250km. How can imagine in your wild dreams of HYD.

Hyderabad was already built well before Telangana state is merged with Andhra state in 1956.It was Andhra who joined Telangana state to form Andhra Pradesh.Even SRC was not in favor of merging. So that logic doesn’t work here dude.

The States Reorganization Commission (SRC) was not in favor of merging the Telangana region with the then Andhra state. Para 382 of States Reorganization Commission Report (SRC) said "..Opinion in Andhra is overwhelmingly in favor of the larger unit, public opinion in Telangana has still to crystallize itself". Even after separate Telangana state is formed, we can still live together like brothers in Hyderabad.

Also, why are you presuming that development can only happen if leaders from Andhra/Rayalseema rule? This is incorrect.

As Indian Economy is shining, even all third tiers cities are growing. So Telangana will also shine even under the rule of Telanagana leaders(be it KCR or any one)

YSR & Naidu sold all lands of Telangana & diverted water of Telangana. We don’t allow it to happen anymore.
