Some questions for UPA, LEFT
by Mahesh on May 14, 2009 11:39 AM

If left again supports congress-led government what are the chances that left may support it for full 5 years. Will left will be a hinderance again for any US-INDIA agreements. If left interfres in policy matters again won't this be a constane menance for UPA.
On the other hand if Left joins UPA, will third front be united? How much name damage it can cause to left if it joins UPA? All those things left will be thinking and possibly when the third front seeks support from congress or any negotiations between congress and left, only these matters will be discussed.
At any cost Left may not support Congress but at all cost Left may seek suport from congress to support Third front.
And how much difference in the name NON-Congress means to Left and to people.
If Left says Non-congress govt. then what is so right in seeking a support from congress. Are citizens that much fool? Incase Congress supports Third front and Left dismantle 123 deal(Nuke deal) again, how much gurantee that congress will continue the support to 3rd front. I think in all the scenario, whether BJP(NDA) comes or not, I think they are in far more sensible and less burden in sitting in the opposition. They may rise some very fundamental questions to Congress and 3rdront especially Left, for which no one can answer.Advantage NDA in future especially in 2011 lok sabha elections.

In karnataka BJP appears to have made major gains but they could have swept completely if their choice of candidates were better. A small example of such goofup is Bangalore rural (CP yogeshwar - a proclaimed fraud). BJP may still corner around 20-25 seats and the remaining will go to congress and JDS.

In Maharashtra; BJP SS will get 30-32 seats, while Congress NCP : 18-20.

Chances of Pawar becoming PM appears rare.

Media; the holy cow??
by hiral joshi on May 14, 2009 11:31 AM

Did any channel compared their own exit poll with their own opinion poll aired just a month ago? Did any channel compared the credibility of their own 2004 exit polls with actual 2004 election results? Why is media expecting others to be transparent and candid, acting in a shoddy manner like hypocrites?

Your stupid,
Propogating wrong, and refusing undersatnd fact,Congress want their vote bank intact,You know in TN south district DMK start loosing long time so keep their vote intact they instigated caste voilence by spliting Hidu caste with harijan,
This is only mirror image of what congress does by creating muslim conflict Cong want to take all muslim vote without doing any much favour to them so Muslim should stop voting to Cong and other allies,
BJP can only take care of all indian welfare including muslim with their honesty and sincereity Ex-Modi of gujarat,

Third front has a chance. But not good for our nation.
by Mahesh on May 14, 2009 11:24 AM  | Hide replies

I am from Tamil nadu state. Cong will get zero. But DMK can get 10-13. ADMK alliance is sweeping the polls. So if congress or UPA wanst to fom the government Congress has to dump DMK and include ADMK. Similarly Cong has to dump Mamata(TMC) and include left. If left Joins UPA, entire third front will be disintefgated. TDP will go NDA and not support congress led UPA. So there is a gain in NDA.Mayawati will in opposite direction of SP.Chances are slim for Mayawati to be neutral. BSP may join NDA if SP joins UPA. So it's a gain for NDA again. Then Orissa, if left joins UPA then BJD may join NDA. Lot depends on his assembly. If BJD joins Congress led UPA, then he is taking a risk in Orissa which he may not prefer.

So all this leads to NO-UPA OR NDA government. Congress may support from outside to thid front. Barring in mind that DMK will pull out because DMK won't support third front just because of ADMK.
Like wise TMC-Mamamta may pull out from UPA because she cannot support left. But the defcit of TMC and DMK may not cost Congress to much because Congress alone may get to some 150. But the 4th front may support third front and will also bargain for minister post.SO THIRD Front is likely to form the government, though it is not good for India, it is likely to happen. History says wheneever such a front is formed, like United front they were in power but may not long last.

There are certainly plus and minus as far as Jaya is concerned.
Plus-Very firm in law and order.
She will humiliate Pakistan/Bangladesh in no time.
Will curb to a larger extent the infilterations.

Minus- No one knows what are her economic policies are.If Left to Left parties in these areas, I cannot say anything in that regard how good it will be. Whatever BJP wanted to do as far as terrorism is concerned or forcible conversions is concerned, JAYA as PM will do it in no time. She will be far more aggressive.

Exit polls......
by IndianNationalChors on May 14, 2009 11:19 AM  | Hide replies

I dunno who is day dreaming?

You believe in the exit polls by the biased TV channels and the ELM.

I will tell you how accurate they are:

1. Gujarat - TV said Congress victory
2. Himachal - Congress victory
3. Punjab - Congress victory
4. Karnataka - Congress victory
5. MP - Congress victory
6. Chattisgarh - Congress victory
7. Bihar - RJD victory
8. Delhi - BJP victory
9. Rajasthan - BJP victory.

You still want to base your assumptions on these TV dimwits?

Well if you go by the trend in that case, then whatever the Media says, the opposite happens.

So, today they say Congress will form the government and I take it that it will be the opposite.
