This is the problem with half-baked economists. Either they are naive or they are acting on the interests of farmers of the US, Australia, Europe and others. Import duties on agricultural imports were slashed. Liberal imports of agricultural products were permitted. The support prices for our wheat, rice and others are less than half those of Australian wheat farmers with poor quality of wheat. If these are pro-farmer policies, then these economists need to go back to schools to relearn economics!

Oh, well, we'll change that to FULL-BAKED Economist. Happy Muzumdar?
Even small mom and pop shop owners in the US oppose Wal-Marts and other retail giants. They squeeze the farmers, employees and drive small shop owners out of business with monopoly practices. Now our FM, PM and other foreign financial institutions and MNCs agents are permitting the retails giants like Reliance, Wal-Marts (through backdoor) and more in the name of attracting FDI. This measure alone will throw out more than 20 million shop owners and others out of jobs in long terms. FM was director of 22 companies including foreign ones before becoming aam admi UPA FM. Now do not be surprised if he, other economists and babus all become directors of the retail giants. Attracting FDI and creating jobs! By the by, jobs for whom?
The banking and insurances of the US, UK and European nations are one of the biggest frauds you can get on earth. To permit them more free access in India by relaxing FDI norms can only be done by either idiots or agents of the US, IMF and WB. Is this FDI going to hurt our economy or boost it? Are they going to create jobs (if so pure temporary jobs) or our bank and insurance sector employees going to lose their jobs? Who is going to benefit from this measure: India or these foreign financial services?
China has a total 11 SEZs. These UPA rulers have already permitted more than 430. These are tax havens, labor law exempt land mafia schemes. Some are foreign controlled and some are Indian. New zamindars squeezed out from small agricultural farmers. Compensation and jobs: yes, their grandsons/granddaughters will get. So these are pro-agricultural policies. New Garib hatao programs!

Do you know the size of Chinese SEZs? For eexample, the entire city of Shenzhen is an SEZ. In fact, that is a better approach. Instead of making small SEZs, for a start small states like Goa and Puducherry should be declared SEZs with their own financial and labour laws. Is any political party ready for this experiment?
