Wind is already flowing in favor of Congress.
History is witness, tells that the Party who Won New Delhi Seat will always Won Lok Sabha Election also.
It means Congress will comes in power again in Lok Sabha also.
Congress Won and BJP lost 3-2 in 2008 election.
BJP lost badly in Rajasthan in 2008.

We may wish to be peaceful, loving and all those nice words. But, it is a fact that the offender should understand that there will be no walkover like the mus in guj and xtians in orissa have understood very very clearly!

Michelle Lobo and Fionna Lobo
by Bhim Sen on May 10, 2009 05:44 PM

I think there is no point in convincing you to show respect, as you are not in for discussion but for abusing others. 2 hours ago you were Fionna Lobo with same attitude as that of Michelle, what's up with you you seem to be an educated person and from a well to do family i guess, then how come you are behaving like the way you are doing. Behave properly please and lets discuss about your issues first that make you feel that people of other faiths are low or whatever.

IB and the CONGRESS
by karuna karan on May 10, 2009 05:43 PM

It is the last ditch effort of Congress to use the name of IB and rediff. When I do not see this report in any media why it is in rediff only?

None of the parties except a very few like DMK, Trinamul are with congress. Congress is isolated now.

If they are having the confidence of coming to power again, then why they have absolved people like Quattorochi, TYTler, Sajjan etc. from CBI. Why they are sending love notes to Nitish, AIDMK, Left etc. everyday even after they categorically denied their support?

Sonia's packages are ready now to be dispatched to Italy.

1200 bodies counted, hundreds seriously injured, aerial bombing
by Nallavan on May 10, 2009 05:34 PM

Rescue workers within the Mullaiththeevu Safety Zone have counted more than 1200 bodies after the large scale slaughter Saturday night and Sunday morning by the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) with the use of cluster ammunition, multi-barrel rocket launchers and cannons, sources from Vanni said. The workers fear that there may be additional bodies yet to be uncovered, and the numbers killed will likely rise. Rescue workers also said several hundreds were very seriously injured, and the critical shortage of medicine at the makeshift hospital will lead to many more deaths.

The casualties and the seriously injured include many elderly, women and children.

The bombing which subsided until noon Sunday increased after 12:00 noon when Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) fighter jets carried out two bombing raids at 12:45 p.m. Sunday, sources from inside the safety zone said.

Rescue workers said the counting of the dead is continuing and the actual number killed in the worst-ever man inflicted carnage by Sri Lanka state will not be known for a few days.

The large scale slaughter is believed to be a result of India prodding Colombo to finish the war before the change of government, political circles in Colombo said adding that the 'war on terror' has appeared to have been translated into 'war on civilians' in the time of Obama Administration.

This is really dreadful stories of human suffering from the war zone. But what can we do? Why dont LTTE leadership understands the importance of negotiating a peaceful settlement within the Srilankan sovereignity of state. Why are you still entertaining the ideas of separation?

Sri Lanka arrests Channel-4 journalists
by Nallavan on May 10, 2009 05:19 PM  | Hide replies

Three British TV Channel-4 journalists, Nick Paton-Walsh, the channel's Asian correspondent, producer Bessie Du and cameraman Matt Jasper, who were covering the Sri Lanka conflict in Trincomalee have been arrested and are being taken to Colombo, AP reported. Channel-4's first independently filmed recent exposure coverage of the conditions of the Tamil refugees who fled the war and being in the internment camps had irked Colombo. The blatant rights violations of the Sri Lanka state had disturbed the world at large for the cavaliar fashion the state was behaving towards the civilians.

in nagaland xtians are majaority and hindooz are minority.. and they are persecuting hindooz to teh extent that they are not even being allowed to celebrate their religious festivals... how many times have u seen that happen to xtians in india? for that small population of hindooz in america itself there are xtian forces like "save america" trying to oppose hindooz... and in india so much respect is given to xtians... and what do v get back? things like nagaland is waht happens...
