Zulfihar, I appreciate people go for inter cast/religion marrages. Nowa days it is so widespread that tamilian marry kashmiri, malayalee marry Gadwali, bengali marry kannada, marathi marry telegu and so on (if you dont trust I will prove)An Indian who marries and Indian is welcome.

ZULFI,
He has done anything wrong marrying another Indian...

Just for argument sake..The fact is Malayalees are no different from Tamils.

Malus & Tamils are one race! In ancient books they have been refered as malai - yalee in tamils it means 'one who rules/resides in mountains or not plains'. The also refered as kurnjival makkal..again it is the same. It was always ruled buy tamil kings cheras! They are Tamils. Malayalem is a dialect of ancient-tamil...later it influenced by Sanksrit!

divide and rule.
Brothers fighting brothers so that Delhi can rule and take our money to swiss banks- what a sad state we found ourselves in.
FYI- Malayalee is a language- the culture of TN and Kerala is the same. The minute difference is exagerated and used by others to rule.

Mr J Chandrasekhar, You are wrong. I am a Tamil and I have many Malayali friends. Last month when I came to London I met an Indian man who was working in the hotel I was staying. He asked me where I am from. When I said I am from Tamilnadu he smiled and said he is Malayalee. This has been my experience whereever I have met a Malayalee. There is in fact affinity between Tamils and Malayalees due to the similarity of language.

Chandra,

We don’t buy (!) your perception though. May be some feel that way because of some isolated-political issues. However, we can understand traceable bitterness for Tamils/Malus from Hindi-belt!
Just because, we are different and culturally-rich, our culture flourished while theirs hijacked by numerous invasions/influence!

i dont understand the logic . when mumbai was attacked people from all the other states shown thier respect to our dead soldiers / police men and our innocent indian citizens . I live in chennai , i have never witnessed any thing like that here . you can nt fell for a indian but you can show for a tamil srilankan ...... just because he is tamil . I would say we should understand one thing clear . Tamil is a language and the purpose for language is " understand and relpy the communication " . More than that you dont have to give a very big status to alanguage . the politican are playing with the language game for votes and people get carried away by this ...... if you think you really wanna help tamilian , plz go to our TN villages and start help the innocent tamils in TN ( indian ) to come up thier life . If you think you are done with all the indian tamils then we can do to other tamilians around the world . what ever you wrote shows that you are tamilian and not a indian

Whether a person speaks tamil or Marathi or Bihari or Chinese or they be from whatever country ..Mr.Thinker all are the same human beings...No one deserves to die because of the place they are born or under the rule they are in or the language they speak...And any human being who don't have any sympathy for another humanbeing dieing from shelling and starvation simply because they are out of boundry would never be considered a human being...Such a Heartless immoral being don't have the right to justify it any other irrelate and unappropiate false information on the attitude ot the people who are well known for their torelance to all religions and languages and open heart to peoples of all religions and languages as their guests...
Even if the suffering people in SLA speak Mandrin, they deserve the support of the Tamils and all other Indians... That is the true spirit of India and to be an Indian and a true human beingWm.

It is because the congress supports Sri Lankan President Rajapakse in his killing and rape of Tamils. With whose money they are buying bullets you know - it is our tax money donated to Lanka. See the irony. If you don't agitate, then you may not fit to be a human being.

Congress is the Culprit
by palanivel rajan on May 08, 2009 06:32 PM  | Hide replies

People from all over the world have concern about the tamil people in Srilanka, except india. it was the worst part that india government is allowing genocide on it's own people. Tamil people had Contributed in all fields of indian stories, especially IT sector and economy growth.. The central government is taking revenge on LTTE for Rajiv's murder. But Congress had failed to protect tamilians on this battle.

Till now there is no international Media have showed the real picture of tamilian's state on srilanka.. UN has raised his voice, Red Cross has sent their volunteer to the war zone, US, Britain is trying to calm down srilankan government..etc... interestingly, indian government is sending weapon's & commanders to kill Tamilian's. No other country in the world will do such kind of things to kill their own people.

In this election and coming election, congress can decide that, they will definitely lose their 40 seats from Tamil nadu. already congress is very bad condition now, and it is not going to improve..

Rajiv's life is no greater than a Tamil child's life...which was crushed along with thousands of innocent civilians massacred by IPKF... It is black-mark in our history!...Due to Rajiv's neglegence/don't care attitude towards tamils!

Are the Tamils of India not Indians? Does not their feelings matter to the rest of Indians? Did Rajiv worry when thousands of Sikhs were being murdered?

it was all developed nations . non of the under developing nations have raised thier voice . India is still under developing nation ......... i hope even BJP or NDA has voiced against Srilankan issue . so any how the 40 seats are waste only ..... if you dont be part of india you dont get any improvement as you will always be alone ... the status of Tamils of TN is ave now and by your idea , will surely become poor and soon all tail people will have to beg for any thing to the country we belong to ... because you are fighting our own country

Is it that each and every time a Lankan topic comes up, it ends in Indians calling each other names. Are we not all Indians first before calling ourselves as Tamils,Marathi's, Bihari's etc.

you should accept, that India is not a classical "nation". It's federation of different people. We don't understand the concept of "India first". It's just an imagination of people like you, who get India completely wrong. As a Malayalee I don't give a shit on Bihars or UP's. This is truth. This is reality.

The first dam in the world was built by a Tamil King karikal Cholan on Cauvery called Kallanai near Trichy for irrigation (Agriculture developement).
Visit Thousands of year old Tamilnadu temples like Madurai Meenakshi or Srirengam Renganathar or Chidambaram Natraj or Tiruchendur Subramanya temple etc to know about their Civil engineering skills.
Indian Gems and Textiles were exported to all over world through ships (Industrial & trading skills).
The first democratic election was held to select local heads by Rajaraja Cholan around 1000 years back.
The Literatures Agathiam & Tholkapiam, thirukural are more than 2000 years old (before the birth of Christian or muslim community).
There are 5 ancient languages in world they are sanskrit, Tamil (both from India), Greek, Latin (both from Furope)and another one from China. Out of these 5 ancient languages only Tamil is still being used for day to day life. Rest of the languages are not in day to day uses and are in literature only.

i wish you wudnt equate what is spoken in TN today as the tamil that was spoken in ancient times. The language spoken in TN is called Tamil, but i am sure the real tamil was not half as crass as what is being peddled in the films or spoken by the common man. And yes, languages, cultures, regions are not for ever, but what mankind does today for development will remain testimony to his existance in this world. So let us move beyond being a tamil or a gujarthi or a bihari..
