Rahul is synonymous to Pappu
by R on May 06, 2009 03:30 AM  | Hide replies

Rahul is being groomed painfully for so long. He has been kept behind the curtains for so long. He has taken no responsibility so far. Even now he is being released to the public very slowly and painfully.

From the small clips were shown on the TV, it was clear that he is unable to present his thoughts coherently. Everytime he opens his mouth, he makes a fool of himself. People have started comparing him with Pappu. Some says he is not a Pappu after all. Well, in the back of their mind, everyone has started comparing him with Pappu. Rediff is saying "no more a political pappu". One of the TV channel headline was "Pappu pass ho gaya". Pappu has become a dirty word, something that represents a fool, incapable person.

Media is totally sold. Yesterday, all the news channels were showing 30-minute program on how Rahul handled the news conference. It was no big deal. Even a small thing he does, the media blows it out of proportion.

One thing that the entire media agrees is that he was a political pappu till now. The only thing the is to be debated is whether he continues to be a pappu or not. I think he is still a pappu.

If Rahul has guts, let him have a open, live telecasted discussion on any subject with Modi or any other national level leader from opposition...the nation would know who this guy is and how much he knows...

Leadership of the Congress youth and student parties overstated
by Khandu Patel on May 06, 2009 01:17 AM

Rahul's leadership of the Congress youth and student parties is not singularly as great achievement as has been made out. It has only been used as a tool to consolidate his families power over the Congress party and through that India. This then continues Nehru's strangle hold over leadership of India which has been as obnoxious and damaging to India which has to find a way out of subservience and fawning which is all too evident in the writings of this correspondent.

The example of great countries all show that the people are willing to be led by others who more fortunate than themselves are willing to serve their country. They may not all do it in the same way. In the UK, the great and the good serve in the armed forces and long to showcase their bravery for which they would great honours and respect. What is not forgiveable is the aloofness of India's middle classes which do not even bother to vote. That may have something to do with the politics that India practices. That Rahul wants to render service to India is commendable but the way he is doing it is hardly beneficial to India.

It is too much to expect in India any sort of National Students Union which are evident in most European countries. These are places where their future leaders earn their first spurs. I was hoping the Youth for Equality would grow beyond the activist movement to the national stage.

Rahul Gandhi is NOT even a Pappu...
by democrazy on May 06, 2009 01:04 AM

I wonder whether the rediff contributor really listened to him. The line "While there was nothing new or startling in his answers ..." shows that she did not. He admitted that CBI is influenced by his party whenever they felt the need. He begged for support of Nitish, Navin, Naidu and the left parties openly. He upset the relation with DMK by speaking of wooing Jaya. He admitted that his party will not be in a position to form the govt even with current UPA partners (it is another matter that they are not happy with Congress, and are keen to keep it out of power this time, or atleast, not give it the controlling stake).

Does he realize the damage he did to the confidence of the Congress voters? Or, are they so dumb to accept whatever he says? Does he think that anti-Congress voters are so dumb as to vote for his UPA partners?

Extracts from Rahul’s Speech
by Merabharat Mahan on May 06, 2009 12:36 AM  | Hide replies

Extracts from Rahul’s Speech:

      I do not support DYNASTY Politics:

What Irony and He Himself enjoys the Highest Post (after Momma) both because of DYNASTY. Without any credible work towards the party except their surname!

      Woos every party and says Congress will lead the Government.

Not only Dynasty Politics but HUNGRY FOR POWER too !

      Terrorism can be solved by just empowering the villages and we can SIT BACK AND RELAX.

What Bull! Has he gone nuts ? Congi is already SITTING BACK AND RELAXING on such terrorism issue.

      I agree with Advaniji on Swiss Bank Money

And the rest of his party members makes it a non issue !

      Praises Present and Past NDA Governments in Nithish and Chandrababu Naidu

For once he spoke the truth !
