Rediff should stop articles spreading hatred amongst commuities.I always see articles against BJP,RSS,VHP,Bajrang dal etc.Nothing against congress,Communists,SP,BSP,RJD,DMK ......etc.What does this mean ? Do they know all the good work done by RSS and VHP across India.These organisation develop qualities of national pride amongst society and they are meant for our countrymen.Rediff should stop publishing articles of puppets of congress party.

Every action has an equal reaction. The conversions have gone unhindered in South India and somebody had to put a stop to it. The most nauseating was the pamphlet prepared by the New Life Church in Kannada language which insulted all H1ndu gods. This triggered the entire chain of events. I dont read kannada at all, It was my Christian friends from Karnataka who translated the entire text for me understand. I clearly remember they felt as humiliated as much I did. They told me one thing which I will never forget, they said that Indian Christians are now increasingly trying to ape the west and this is the reason why they are increasingly becoming anti India. They reason that no Christian should ever forget that they were all H1ndus before converting and by that means an Indian first and then Christian. Even Christians are fed up for their own governing authorities.

do not fool yourself into believing anything...xians have right wing and left wing groups like hindus & muslims...it is these extreme groups that need to be controlled...and no normal indian xian believes religion before country...as with any indian citizen
BJP govt. in Karnatak is responsible for all this mess in Karnatak specially in South Kanara district that is called Mangalore. As we all know pub attack, and Ram Sene is responsible for this. Ram sene is involved in many cases in Mangalore. there is not only Ram sen, but Bajrang dal, Hindu sene, all these sene's only aim is to destroy and loot. They are getting support from BJP government. People are tired from these activities of Saffron brigade and they are looking for change. Mr Poojari is a well know name in Mangalore he have good hope to bring congress back into South Kanara and North Karnatak also coming to Congress fold and Deve Gowda and his JDS also very strong position in Hasan and Bangalore. There will be a change in Karnata in this election.

@tajender!! Don't suggest to work in arab countries.. Hell to work in Saudi/Arab countries.. but dubai is OK..It's not like any other western countries.. very strict laws.. lot of indian muzlim womans/men are cheated there..they need labour force.. India is supporting huge labour..

Current Us economic problems are a blessing- there is a massive movement to adapt to alternate energies. This means the Arab countries have to drink their oil soon. What else do they have to sell if oil does not sell?

There are 6000 Sikhs in Swat, the second largest minority in the restive valley after Christians.

Most of Sikhs belong to middle income bracket and are involved in businesses such as sweets and utility stores.
They mostly live in Mingora, which has an overall population of 1.8 million.
Speedy Justice
Singh, a 40-year-old father of two, is not troubled by the implementation of a Shariah judicial system in his region. "My grandfather migrated from Peshawar to Swat some 70 years ago because at that time, it was ruled by Shariah judicial system," he notes.
"This is not new for us."
Swat was an independent state governed under Shari`ah until 1970 when then military ruler General Yahya Khan scrapped its independent identity.
Locals say they used to settle their issues under Shari`ah, insisting that the enforcement of British laws complicated the situation.
"Its simply because we feel that the incumbent system has failed to protect the minorities. Thats why we support the Shariah judicial system, which will protect us from the excesses of criminals backed by area bigwigs," he argued.
Taliban and the North Western Frontier Province (NWFP) government signed in February a peace deal allowing enforcement of Shariah in Swat.
Under the new system, there is Qazi courts in Swat, Dir, Chitral, Kohistan and other NWFP districts.
The courts decide civil cases within six months and criminal cases within four months.

Corrupt Politicians
Saqlain Masih, a young Christian who works as a sanitary worker at a local hotel, does not feel threatened by Taliban.
"I am working in Qambar (some 10 kilometers from Mingora and a stronghold of Taliban). They know very well that I am a Christian, but they have never hurt me," he told IOL.
"I personally feel no threat from armed Taliban. Everyone is armed here. Some people display arms and some do not. Whats the difference for me?"
On the contrary, he sees hope in the enforcement of Shari`ah.
"If Nizam-e-Adal is actually enforced, I will be the first to welcome that," he said enthusiastically.
"We have been under the thumb of local bigwigs, who have been exploiting us. We are poor people and cannot go against them in courts."
Christians are the largest minority in Swat and the Asian Muslim country, making up nearly two percent of its 17million total population.
