I remember when lala lajpat had become a communalist in his later days, the great and very learned shahid bhagat singh had ditched him. There is no bigger freedom fighther and martyr than bhagat singh and he had told at that time that "Communalism is a bigger threat than Colonialism" how right he was.
From Day 1 of this Varun Gandhi incident happened, media is not ready to forget it. I am not Pro-Varun not Anti-Varun. I strongly believe that media's work should be to report news only & not to pass judgments or give their opinions about anything. You've registered a case against him, enough. Don't just keep showing it on TV & hold discussions on it. Varun Gandhi, a young candidate from BJP, has been made a national celebrity by media. No body was even noticing him before he made that speech. May be he did it deliberately or he said that in some other context of Hindus being harassed in that particular area, no one knows. I don't think he would even need to campaign now. He has become so popular that he would win the election sitting inside jail which is completely unacceptable. He got 100 times more political mileage than what he deserved in reality. He hasn't done any solid work for people but these biased media has made him famous with excessive negative news about him. And then Mayawati completed rest of the story by booking him under NSA which is a complete misuse. This is called systematic polarization by media. Media has created more sympathizers with Varun than he could've done for himself. I sincerely believe Varun should be punished if he is proven guilty but media and other politicians who have misused law to hold him guilty are bigger culprits in this case. Completely hopeless politicians & extremely biased media. 5-year election is nothing but a farce in India.

VARIN`S SUPPOSED SPEECH WAS ON 7TH MARCH, & THE MEDIA REPORTED IT ONLY ON 15TH MARCH. FOR NEARLY 9 DAYS THERE WAS NO REACTION TO HIS SPEECH LOCALLY, OR THERE WAS NO LAW ORDER PROBLEM DURING THOSE DAYS SHOWS THAT VARUN HAS NOT TOLD ANYTHING OBJECTIONABLE. BUT THE THINGS STARTED ONLY AFTER NATIONAL MEDIA REPORTE & STARTED SHOWING IT HUMPTY NUMBER OF TIMES. IF ACTION IS TO BE TAKEN THEN IT IS TO BE TAKEN AGAINST THE MEDIA FOR CREATING A LAW & ORDER PROBLEM. ONE SHOULD REMEMBER EVEN THE MANGALORE PUB ATTACK WAS A MEDIA MANAGED ATTACK WITH MEDIA PEOPLE WERE ALREADY THERE BEFORE THE INCIDENCE.

Your bring a good point. Media is as corrupt and biased as anything else. Nowadays you hardly know any journalist whom you can call credible. Most of them are sold out to some or the other vested interest. Journalism is what Goenka was for Indian Express, Kuldip Nayar, Russi Karanjia, Kasturi Ranga, Arun shourie. This guys were powerful and were afraid or sycophants of no one. Off late news media is like sensationalizing circus.

just aount how many my cast people are there. the media is filled with sharmas, mishra, shuklas & other UP brahmins. They are hell bent on defeating BJP so that enjoyed the benifits they got so far

Punish him if he is proven guilty but just don't misuse law when you are in power just to gain some more votes. And Indian media, the lesser we say the better. It is run by a bunch of immature jokers who try to create controversies in every small news.

It seems that these people don't want to keep any difference between well trained hard core ruthless terrorists and some minor nuisance creators. Obviously one doesn't need ATF for Mangalore incident but just to create hype and make the incident look big, ATF was sent while when real terrorists strike, NSG took more than 6 hours to reach Mumbai. This can only happen in our great country called India.

I fully agree. It's not a question of supporting or opposing him. Its just getting ourselves all worked up for no reason. Media is totally focussed on dramabaazi. Their job is to show news and not make silly deductions. Very unprofessional journalism backed by money from politicians. All they are doing is unnecessary advertising. Good or bad whatever.
Mufti Muhammad Sayid passed bill in Kashmir assembly to provide monetary benefits to families of those killed in encounter with security forces which was rejected by Governor of Kashmir. Is this not a fit case impose NSA on Mufti?
