nope, they never have pretended to be secular. their moderate voices have been muzzled by congress. so you could only hear the radical which congress likes.

Raj thakeray was allowed bcoz he was dividing hindus which is beneficial for congress as that wud mean that hindu votes will get divided between the saffron parties. Congress benefits from the caste based and region based politics.
