How the mighty have fallen ! Now even the reform minded Naidu has been defeated by the cynical, corrupt policies of Indians and have joined them !His earlier honest, no freebies government was too good for indians, he has learned his lesson.

Chandrababu Naidu is Casteist.
by New York on Mar 21, 2009 03:07 PM  | Hide replies

When Chiranjeevi announced engagement between UDAY KIRAN and his daughter SUSHMITHA, Chandrababu Naidu sarcastically said it is INTERESTING that Chiranjeevi is getting his daughter married to a different caste person.

I heard this comment on TV when I was in Hyderabad.

This is all bullshit. Chiranjeevi's daughter elobed with the boy because Chiranjeevi was against the intercate marriage, a well known fact. Where is the question of Naidu making such a statement? When Chiranjeevi himself a casteist and he started his party based on only his Kaappu caste, how can you blame Naidu a casteist?. For that matter every politician in Indian is a casteist, even Mahatma Gandhi is no exception to this.

Chandrababu Naidu is inhuman.
by New York on Mar 21, 2009 02:59 PM  | Hide replies

I was in Hyderabad during Chandrababu regime.
There was drought for 9 years due to lack of proper rains in AP.

And farmers were committing suicide because they were unable to pay LOANS taken from pawn brokers.

Instead of compensating farmers he said they were committing suicide to get EX GRATIA from govt.

Since Chandrababu Naidu is good at manipulating MEDIA with the help of big boss, Ramoji Rao this was never disclosed to the rest of world.

well your description applies to all politicians in India. Your particular emphasis on Naidu also shows you are no better.

Ramalinga Raju paid party funds to almost all political parties in AP.

But in case of TDP he paid 20 crores donation to Chandrababu Naidu's son Lokesh for his admission to Stanford.

by swetambar on Mar 21, 2009 02:40 PM

These politicians who are indulging in this kind of populist schemes owe to answer this, whose monet are they going to distribute like this? CBN and YSR are both are corrupt and bereft of any new ideas except offering freebies to gain power. EC should intervene and shouldnt allow this kind of exploitation takes place in the name of freebies or subsidies

These leaders might promise heaven before elections. If he is serious then he would have atleast done enough study like how much it would cost exchequer for this schem. When media asked him, he is clue less. It is shame, if we re-elect leaders like Naidu.

Appears to be pupulist scheme but it is not
by GODAVARTI RAmesh on Mar 21, 2009 01:07 PM

At first glance the scheme appears to be populist but it is not so. This scheme can bring about sea change in Women empowerment and girl child education and prevent female infanticide. NREGP of Congress was also a good scheme and should be continued. Only thing to be looked at is the implementation part. But CBN is known for strong administration.
