What 'folly' it is... if it isn't for a holday from slowdown..
by Babu on Mar 21, 2009 10:01 AM

I for one, probably think she is taking all her leave in one single go... and would like to avert being regarded as the reason for not reaching targets during a slowdown.

Her argument professionals become people's representatives sixty years is 'Bullshit', particularly considering 'Caste Dominance', which a 'Right wing section' still craves for.
If we want to change the state of things, 'professionals' are required in the 'bureaucracy' craving to be rescued from 'Clerks'rather than legislature which requires simple people who can gel with, empathize with all sections of the society and their problems apart from striving to solve them.

At least if Sanyal could achieve this simplicity and trouble shooting skills, her professional background argument will be able to keep its head above water, though professionalism is useless for a legislator unless he or she is from legal background.

If you have any doubt in my above arguments, answer this query, which dam is going to be built by a legislator or which bank is going to be run by him or her?

She is born and bought up in Mumbai and identifies with its culture. And thats it why. Also she has done some social work in her area and that is also another reason. Dont be so regional in your mindset.

ABN Amro chief to contest poll from Mumbai South
by Chandan on Mar 21, 2009 09:36 AM

We should help broad minded people to win. A good decision by the professional. The more academicians/ professionals joins the politics, the more chances for India to be super power / strongest economy in the world in the shortest time. We should target India at @ 100 number one. Encourage and guide youngesters to to come forward and lead.

Good precedent and this has to continue with all other good and educated people coming into politics. If this happens , India will be a real power to reckon in future.
Best of luck. We wish you all to come off victorious with big margin.

It's very heartening to know that Meera Sanyal has taken this path breaking decision. We need people like her to clean up the mess created by our uneducated and unprofessional politicians.

The Last refuge

CEO Meera Sanyal merits congratulations for her bold decision. But the old adage is stll valid. Politics is the last refuge of a scoundrel. How will she fight the hard-core politicians? Be she blessed.
