Mayawati as Obama
by Suresh B on Apr 22, 2009 01:48 PM

Another bout of nonsensical media report. Another bout of wanting to be seen 'correct' in the white man's eyes. How does it matter what Newsweek thinks? Is Newsweek voting in UP. Absolute waste of newsprint.
Secondly for all its talk of 'equality' and promoting democracy, communist hypocrites will never allow a Dalit to rise.
Personally I dont think Mayawati is good for anything, least of all PM of India, but the only reason the media opposes her is because she is actually likely to challenge an equally corrupt Congress with its own mix of idiotic 'aam admi' policies whilst filling its own coffers.
As for Obama , the idiot does not have the brains to allow Wall Street to go bankrupt and is now being compared to Putin where government bails out the big investment banks for their stupidity instead of allowing them to fail and cleaning the economy of unwarranted detritus. And his wonderful anti India stance is shown when he prevented GE from selling parts to NPC.A democratic US president has never been good for India - they only practise nuclear apartheid.
And Mayawati is trying to include Brahmins and others - even if its just a token gesture.
And rediff carries Newsweek reports becoz it furthers its own Congressi agenda. Well done Rediff - keep it up.

Bahen Mayawati Next PM ?
by Surendra Borkar on Apr 22, 2009 12:55 PM  | Hide replies

Yes, She will be next PM of India, because Cong will below 120 seats, its UPA[SP,LJP,RJD NCP Etc] will below 50, BJP NDA will not cross 140 Seats, thus the entire majority will support to Third Front. Bahen Mayawati, is comming with heay hand on Mulayam and Cong with 80 Seats, she will open account by 6-7 from Maharashtra. She will be PM of oppressed and suppressed class in India, like Obama in US. She has got tricks to rule governemtn, for example she is only CM who on telephone sacked erroring IAS and IPS officials, no one had done in Indian History. At this alrming situation she is fit for PM post. Sharad Pawar, NCP will not maintained last numbers, thus he is far from PM Post. Mr. Prakash Karath, will offer first to Bahen Mayawati, when he supported congress and sacrifice more for public interest, that Congress forgotton.

He is right about the hung parliament.
The only reason Mayawati may not lead the country is cause the third front has a higher proportion of self serving scoundrels than the NDA and UPA

Mayawati for sure is extremely detrimental for the country, worse of than Modi - Casteist and divisive like commual and divisive Modi and no success on development. While Modi certainly has development which by far exceeds success or achievements ever garnered by CMs in India for the last 60 years.

Hope, wish and urge voters to keep Mayawati away.

Definately, Mayawati is descructive. She is descructive to those who are having manubadi mentality. She is determental to those (Bureacrats) who do not understand their duties. She is determental to those who differentiate among humanbeings on the basis of caste, class, religion, region.

Very well said brother.
Mayawati is plyaing her fortune because of large population of dalit voters.
She sacks few IAS and IPS officers to pressurise other public servants and then she makes money by various means. She does not deserve to become Indian PM. American media is highlighting her because they don't want to see any competent personality as Indain PM.

Mayawati Phenomenon
by GODAVARTI RAmesh on Apr 22, 2009 12:12 PM  | Hide replies

Mayawati should be judged over a period of 5 years. All these years everyone argued that only a Dalit leader can give a new direction to the backward classes . Now that she has assumed power in the biggest state with largest backward classes, let us wait till the end of her term . If she succeeds then the argument in favour of Dalit empowerment can be carried forward to the next stage that is leading the nation. If she fails then let us conclude that only attributes required for leader of the masses is vision, integrity, education and political accumen and that Caste, religion or region do not matter.

You might be aware of two types of testing, Non Destructive and Destructive Testing. It seems India undergoes a Destructive tseting under the rule of Mayavati to judge if she is capable of ruling such a huge country or not. What if she is not. We shudder to think what will be left of India after 5-Year of rule by someone like Mayavati. God save India from even such thoughts.

mr bhartiya mayawatis rule in UP is very constructive as in her rule atleast UP can make a FIR in police station. in mulayam sings rule u can do FIR only if you are a high prifile man or a yadav as most of the poloce stations were dominated by yadavs
her 2 years rule is a free from communal vilance rule.and a rule of dovelopment. it is very sure that no one can change condition of up and bihar in 2 years. nitish kumar has done a lot more better than rabri devi but still bihar needs more time.

Dangerous thinking.

no need to give 5 years to prove a point. Then every one of the 100 crore ppl will aks for a chance. If maya is a failure after 5 years, ppl will start arguing that its only a person's failure and give chance to some one else based on the caste again. you will never come out of this loop.

you interview a person and offer a job. if he does will he will keep job if not he will be out. no one will wait till he retires.

Let us accept the fact that Mayawati represents the Dalits who are in majority of India's Population. Now , she has been elected by a positive vote from them and others too in UP for a term of 5 years. She cannot be dislodged from UP for 5 years isn't it. So her performance in UP will be a yardstik to determine if the theory of caste based politics holds water or not.Afterall the Dalits too have a point of view which cannot be brushed aside.

Maya-ki-maya
by Rajni Mishra on Apr 22, 2009 12:06 PM  | Hide replies

UP Chief Minister Ms Mayavathi is a child of destiny. She was destined to do great things to uplift the depressed and opressed, but somewhere she lost her way. Probably the unstinted support she received from the dalits inflated her ego and she started believing that the dalits were her captive audience who will dance to her tunes for all times to come. So in place of continuing the good work started by her mentor late Kashi Ram for the dalits and opressed, she started her memorial building mania to perpetuate her name in the saga of dalit history. She may be good at election politics and amassing wealth at the cost of her community, but she seems to have little or no grasp on economic or foreign policy matters. If she wants the top job, she has to be more open, forward-looking, but less ambitious. She has to be part of Sarvajan Samaj, and not just Bahujan Samaj.
