The worst form of Adharma is to use religion to gain political power.

Exactly,

I wish I will be alive to see that day when Congress and its coterie stops using religion and communalism for political gains

Some of these people are Mahesh Bhatt, Shahi Imam, and several political, social, academicians.

Right. I am told there are a number of persons who have reached UP to ensure that Muslim vote does not split. Consolidation of votes in the name of religion is very divisive and blatant communal ism.

Those who blog here hardly have any say in the real world. All we can hope is that bi-polar madness gives way to Triad-politics.

All three political formations carry poision in their tails. BJP has Hindutva, INC has Dynasty and Third Front has a motley mix of regionalism, Naxalism, Feudalism etc

Triad polity with its gyration may make it fesible to keep the respective tails away from the Centre. The binary logic would give to more complex formulation based on Rock-paper-scissors
game logic. This would most probably be better for better political decision-making and economic development.

was different for Jyoti Basu
by Ramesh on Apr 23, 2009 04:46 AM  | Hide replies

Jyoti Basu was denied an almost certain chance to be PM and few reports even said that one of the deciding factor was Mr. Karat.

Times have changed, and even talk of it and the rationale for denial has also changed. To have become a normal democratic party where individual expressions are considered not out of place or impinging upon ideological puritanism is welcome.

As Hindutva unfortunately gets even more hardened, this broadmindness of the leftist is a welcome development. Many of the leftists highly educated and tinged with idealism and decency can potentially make good helmsmen.

"few reports even said that one of the
deciding factor was Mr. Karat."

UTTERLY WRONG

You can attribute this to Harkishan Surjeet. Know your facts before preaching here.

Making mention of Hindutva in a way to purport it as a communal and taboo word is fashioned by congress and left parties. Factually, it is the communists that are and were practicing divisive politics for ages in India and world over.

After all, your party is only a spelling aberration away from being "COMMUNALIST."

Yes, this shall happen when India becomes a Hindu Nation under Advani's leadership. Reminds me what happened to Najibullah in Kabul.

A better fate than what happened to muslim states ; Gujarat and its prosperity should be a pointer; Also the shameful holding to ransom by a minority of the majority , power without responsibility etc. can be avoided

Let us go forward in time machine in 2035. We would be saying something like this:

India was 85% Hindus in 2000. Now there are less than 50%. Taliban rules India and controls large part of the world. The Taliban head quarters have shifted to New Delhi. Taliban is forcing Hindus to leave India. Hindus are looking for safe place to live, possibly Nepal

This communal propaganda which is nothing but utter lies and hype leads to violence. It excites people of majority community out of fear psychosys. People in the rediff blog are so communal that they can go to any extent to create a divide between people. Some of them are known - they have a habit of writing such things.

Save India!
by Indori Baba on Apr 23, 2009 04:28 AM  | Hide replies

India has shown no communal forces survive. But India will not survive. Soon muzlims will cross 50%. The debate over secularism will not be there, since then izzlam will be official religion. And soon Taliban will take over after that. So vote congress to power if you want India to end up the way I described. Just think India was from Afghanistan to Burma. Now Afghanistan,Pak and Bangladesh are complete taliban. So effectively India got downsized by 40%. Just wake up to save the remaining 60%.Don't be fooled by Congi secularism. It is better to live now under fanatics like Modi than live under someone like Sufi M'o'ho'mm'ad of Swat valley fame.
