Be United or Be Dead
by Guest on Apr 18, 2009 09:25 PM  | Hide replies

Ok. For many of you this'll be a load of proselytizing excreta :

I can't believe we educated Indians are up grabbing at each others throats because of Religion and Caste, especially at a time when we're under constant threat. It is this Right-Wing Fascism that breeds insecurity in the Minorities that lead them to feel like an 'ousider'. Let us not be divided by petty differences. Friends, this is time to Unite, not to cite differences of Religion or Region.

Vote for India. An India where one is not judged by his background, but his behavior and actions. If you ask people of a particular community to go to Pakistan, remember - They've as much a right to be here as you do. If you still think 'they' should be driven away, well, the Taliban needs people like you. This is just what they want - an India bleeding as the sons of its soil hold their brothers in low regard - a mistake that Pakistanis did and lost East Pakistan.

We don't need any more extremist - separatist movements - the only solution is in uniting together to fight the actual enemy - not have Hindu-Muslim riots online.

Speak. Be heard. We Indians can either hang together, or rest assured we will hang separately at the hands of Violence, Terrorism, Greed, Hypocrisy and Poverty.

Jai Hind!

Mary had a little lamb,
Little lamb, little lamb,
Mary had a little lamb,
Its fleece was white as snow

Everywhere that Mary went,
Mary went, Mary went,
Everywhere that Mary went
The lamb was sure to go

It followed her to school one day
School one day, school one day
It followed her to school one day
Which was against the rules.

It made the children laugh and play,
Laugh and play, laugh and play,
It made the children laugh and play
To see a lamb at school

And so the teacher turned it out,
Turned it out, turned it out,
And so the teacher turned it out,
But still it lingered near

And waited patiently about,
Patiently about, patiently about,
And waited patiently about
Till Mary did appear

"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
Love Mary so? Love Mary so?
"Why does the lamb love Mary so?"
The eager children cry

Sheila Dixit needs a shake up...
by Sundaram on Apr 18, 2009 08:01 PM  | Hide replies

While she may have done better than other CMs in the country by helping Congress win for 3 or 5 times in a row, the Delhi admininstration needs to considerably tightened and kicked out of its long slumber. The irony is, it always wakes up after an incident has occurred, whether it is the case of schoolchild punished to death (def not the first case), model being shot dead, a Doctor being wrongly punished and humiliated on TV etc. For instance, the Blue line buses have killed over 100 people and the CM seems to be still groping in the dark for a permanent solution. We need leaders and CMs to take timely decisions and act proactively and not merely express outrage after an incident has occurred. This sarkari "sab chalta hai" attitude must go immediately.

I stand corrected but the Blue line bus recently knocked down one more person. One we need to install speed governers on all such buses and ask the drivers to requalify for a driving licence after retraining. In Singapore, the driving licence is cancelled for 6 years for much lesser offences. The Administration has to think thro' some deterrents to bring the erring drivers to discipline. Why does the Admn allow overcrowding and people to hang at the back of the bus ?

it is stup1d to compare India or Delhi with singapore ... maybe saharanpur, but not singapore

the speed governors are NOT a solution as red/blue line buses kill people not when they are going at 70, but at bus stops when they are at 30.

the bus drivers must slow the bus to around 15 kmph at the bus stops, but they don't. instead at that high speed they maneuver in an an out of buses parked at bust stops dropping or picking passengers ... sometimes those passengers can't see the other bus coming in or leaving as they are focused only on their bus to board.

most tragedies happen on bus stops when the buses are not going at 70

A suggested step by step procedure by which such accidents can be eliminated would be:

a) Get a data base of all drivers, their qualifications and driving track record. An educated driver will have presence of mind to use fire extinguishers when required, use first aid to help passengers, in emergencies as compared to a school drop out.
b) Do all the drivers have genuine DLs ? How many are driving with false DLs ?
c) Pull out the most error prone drivers and give them a written warning"One more and you go home".
Send them to a retraining class, run by a professional from private sec-tor and have his skills upgraded. If he does not pass the test, sack him.
d)Give the drivers a strict warning in writing that if they make more than 3 extreme mistakes, their licen-ces stand to be revoked for 5 years besides dismissal from service.
e) A big state like Delhi should not flinch back from setting up a first rate driving school for driv-ing heavy vehicles. It can earn revenue from other states as well.
f) By way of reward and punishment, reward the bus driver who clocks in max number of Kms with zero acci-dents, so that others can emulate him. This can be a revolving tropy plus a citation and a cash prize.

f) I regret to say this the traffic police in almost all states are the most ill-educated and ill-trained.
Unless they themselves are well trained and know the rules well, how can they impose discipline on the driving public ?

Frankly, I don't understand your mindset. If Singapore has a good rule for drivers why not see if it can be adapted here. Nobody is try-ing to compare Delhi with Singa-pore. If the accidents happen more at bus stops, what prevents the local government from retraining the existing drivers or replacing them en masse from elsewhere? The existing driver lot can be easily dismissed for poor performance. Unless the local government can set minimum quality standards, one can never expect excellence. Excellence demands setting up of minimum quality standards, in writing.

What Advani Did for India's Security, now denied
by aloo aloo on Apr 18, 2009 07:35 PM  | Hide replies

Referring to the Indian Airlines plane hijacking case in 1999, Singhvi said: "Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah in a public statement made in 2006 said that (then home minister L.K.) Advani had repeatedly called him up asking for release of the terrorists Azhar Mehmood and his accomplices during the hijacking of the IC-814 Indian Airlines plane to Kandahar.

"Why did not Advani deny the statement by the Jammu and Kashmir chief minister in 2006? Advani even blamed the then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee for not being part of the meeting which decided to release the terrorists. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government could have consulted the opposition before releasing the terrorists and escorting them to Kandahar (Afghanistan)."

Singhvi charged that Advani, a former deputy prime minister, was also instrumental in securing release of Peter Bleach, convicted for waging war against the nation in the Purulia (West Bengal) arms dropping case, he added.

BJP administration should not have let the plane refuel and leave amritsar ... with a high level of army presence in and around amritsar and several AF bases nearby, India would be much more in control than it was when our plane was in kadahar

REAL FACE OF INDIAN MEDIA. –How can you trust them anymore
by balaji on Apr 18, 2009 04:49 PM  | Hide replies

Every media is owned by overseas Christian organisations. It was difficult to believe but the Election coverage by TV Media is prooving the point.
BUT NOW IT IS PROVED BEYOND DOUBT.
(1)No TV Media aired the News on the suicide
of Senior Vadhera. If any such death had
happened in the family of a BJP person,
the Media would have gone agog with the
news.
(2)Teestha Setalwad was exposed of creating
most of the Gujarat Riot Stories and in
fact taken the Supreme court almost for a
ride.Imagine a similar offence by the
opposite side.There would have been
discussions,hen fights,opinion polls and
SMS surveys.
The MEDIA OF THIS DECADE WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR AGES TO COME. IT IS A BLOT ON JOURNALISM.

Is there any Indian who will lodge a criminal case on Testha Setalwad for her crimes against the communal harmony of this country?

Seculiarism redefined IN Bharath

Sikhs getting slaughered in thousands = A MISTAKE.
Hindus getting killed in Kashmir = Political problem.
Muslims getting killed by a few hundred = Holocaust.
Poor protestors getting shot in WB under Left Govt = Misunderstanding.

Banning Parzania in Gujarat = Communal.
Banning Da Vinci Code and Jo Bole So Nihaal = Secular.

Kargil Attack = Government failure.
Chinese invasion in 1962 = Unfortunate betrayal.

Reservations in every school and college on caste lines = Secular. Reservations in Minority institutions = Communal.

Fake encounters in Gujarat [Sohrabuddin] = BJP Communalism.
Fake encounters under Cong-NCP in Maharashtra [Khwaja Younus] = Police atrocity.

Talking about Hindus and Hinduism appeasment = Communal. Talking about Muslims and Islam = Secular.

BJP freeing 3 terrorists to save 100 Indian hostages = Shameful
Congress freeing 4 militants to save just a life of one daughter of I Home minister in Kashmir [Rubina Sayed] = Natural Political dilemma.

Attack on Parliament = BJP ineptitude. Not hanging Afzal Guru the mastermind despite Supreme Court orders = Humanity and Political dilemma.

BJP questioning Islam = Communal. Congress questioning Lord Ramas existance = Clerical Error.
