mamata, r u living in a paradise of fool?
by saugoto Banerjee on Apr 12, 2009 09:30 PM

in this country, now it is established that nobody but only BJP(or saffron nationalist wing) is somehow think for hnidus!so, minimum qualification for any action by 1slemic govt/by EC is that he/she shud be from saffron wing!!

after that incident(varun episode), many threatening speeches was given right from congress msulim minister in andra(same language what varun told , just he replaced hnidus by msulims!), lallu even told that he wud have crushed varun by road roller, mayabati warned that if anything untoward incident happens to other candidates for the action by EC which against her wish, her govt. will not be responsible ..and so on, but NO action was taken against anybody and so as it will be for buddhadeb! no wonder!no action!

No dearth of entertainment in Bengal
by Manoj Dev on Apr 12, 2009 09:28 PM

Ms. Banerjee seems to hardly have any Bengal issue other than CM Bhattacharjee; and of course nothing National please for her.
The rest of India can draw a lot of amusement from the political antics of Bengal; but, we living here are bracing for real live entertainment and little else in the coming years.

The reletion between Buddhadev and Mamata is not different than reletion between Mayavati & Mulayam. It is getting worse and dirty day by day.
Reletion between Karuna Nidhi and Jaya is comparatively dignified.

EC will act per instructions it receives from Sonia
by Bskr T on Apr 12, 2009 09:05 PM

Apropos It is baffling to note the government reject the CEC’s recommendation when Article 324(2) is emphatic that “the other ECs can be removed if the CEC approves their ouster.”

In the beginning, the Election Commission consisted of only the CEC. But the Congress (I) government just before the ninth general election appointed two more Commissioners in an attempt to compromise the independence of the Election Commission. It is curious how the amended rule (on January 2, 1990 by the National Front government), which restored the status quo ante, was negated and the multi-member body continued.

The Constituent Assembly had envisaged such disputes and had asked to constitute a collegium to decide on appointments such as the CEC, ECs to be above partisan politics. But the Administrative Reforms Commission cold-shouldered it. The Apex Court must be given the power to select CEC and ECs from the list given by the government taking the Opposition into confidence.

Hope the EC sticks to its rules and regulations rather than overstep its duties in the ensuing elections.

I think it is the media who is creating all kinds hype for Mamta ,TC .The youth of West Bengal are no longer interested such kind of childish politics by political Parties of West Bengal and 40 %of voters are youth of West Bengal and looking for career only .So people with ages are virtually supporters of all political parties .The future of West Bengal lies on youths only who can turn West Bengal to Gold mine in India with availability of resources .

you are absolutely right Mr Sathyarth.

At one end cCong-I is trying hard to get more seats by bribing voters and asking indirectly the commies to garner more seats from the other side.
