Actual poverty levels have increased during UPA regime and this fool has the gall to say that within 10 years poverty will be wiped out.

UNFORTUNATELY, We lost a good economist and got a non useful political leader by making him a proxy PM. My sympathies with MMS and the nation.

Weak PM
by rohit Rj on Apr 11, 2009 07:19 PM

MMS instead of accusing other parties, why don't u come out in open and fight the elections, u don't have the guts to fight the lok sabha elections. This is rather true that u r indeed a weak PM.

Don't be under foolish impression

One argument in favour of Dr Manmohan Singh: 'The whole world loves him'. Now think further.

If you say to any other country's head that India loves you, he would definitely return pleasantries as a part of courtsey. Selling this for votes is like cheating ignorent people, and buying this is like cheating yourself.

Only tough leaders and diplomats can work in the interest of their countries (true for even developed countries), and they are never liked by the whole world.

The whole world likes you means you are suitable for their interests, possibly at the cost of your own country's interests - unless you are mother Teresa or Mahatma Gandhi who don't work for power.

On economic front:

Other economic giants, or fast growing countries do not need Pt Nehru, or Rajiv Gandhi or Dr Manmohan Singh to be on the path of growth.

Dr Singh is not a unique person qualified in economics. You will find several others who are better qualified than him but not in national limelight - just like Dr Singh was before 1991.

India got benefitted or affected more by the global opportunities and global factors than by the performance of Dr Singh (was true for NDA regime also). It is only natural for an opportunist that he takes the credit for good things happening and blame global factors for bad unfavorable situation.

Just a few things..

If you are under the foolish impression about Dr Manmohan Singh's strengths/weaknesses, it is not in your and India's best interests

by NamoUdupiSrikrishna on Apr 11, 2009 06:51 PM

Great politician, He has learnt the lessons of politics, He has learnt to act and lie.
If his 5 years rule could increase the below poverty line by 4%, how can another 5 years matters?

May be he is talking about his maximum life span remaining to fool the people of India

We need only 10 years to rid India of poverty: PM
by suresh nayak on Apr 11, 2009 06:46 PM

Oh! What a wonderful forecast!!! But the history of your party's rule and your recent performance over 5 years doesnot assure us of any such possibility.GDP of 8.6% was NDA's legacy you inherited. The ability of three economists is reflected in the predicted GDP of 3.9% this year which is Congress legacy for the next GOVT.

Lies

India is worse off than sub-Sahara Africa and even Banlga/Pak in many life-quality indexes even after 60 years of independence. Congress has been lying to us for 60 years. No reason to believe them now.

nepotism of Gandhi/Nehru dynasty? Let's face it, MM is the leader only because Indians vote for Sonia and not for Manmohan

If this lemming is give 10 more years of rule...
by mo jintao on Apr 11, 2009 06:05 PM

...there will be no more india and consequently no indians in poverty. the communists will come to power aided by the dynasty and various sleeper cells of cults spreading their tentacles. It will be open season for all these snakes to crawl out of their pits and once they are in control they will declare there is no more india and no poverty in India. The "eminent" media hucksters will joyfully agree and the spineless lemming will be awarded nobel, order of red star, order of vatican, etc etc. So go ahead indians, display your naivete and stupidity again and vote for the dynasty so the "south-asian" neighborhood will be less populated with poor people. Jai ho, Jai ho!!!
