There is nothing called "The Mint", you are factually wrong, there is one thing called livemint.com which is associated with very prestigeous wall street journal. You are bringing disgrace to fellow IITians by such factually wrong inputs in the email published to general public.

Dear Indian

It has come to our knowledge that you all have not stopped bickering and cribbing about being poor and not having adequate basic facilities which could enable you to live a moderately decent life. The fact of the matter remains that you are all supposed to be poor and what the heck, its high time you be fine with it.

Considering that elections are round the corner and we'd do anything in our reach to make sure we can squeeze the single last vote out of each one of you desperate bums (dead or alive), we propose scrapping the poverty line once and for all.

Henceforth none of you will be called poor and the next time we go begging, grovelling, crying on our knees to the world bank for another 100 year loan, we will finally be able to tell them its not for alleviating poverty but for world peace.

JAIRAM SHOULD TAKE ADVICE FROM SONIA
by Bhagat on Apr 03, 2009 04:16 PM  | Hide replies

Before releasing any statements, Jairam should take advice from Sonia, otherwise, he will be out from the party like Sitaram Kesari, Dhawan, Natvar Singh, etc. As, all congressmen are slave of Sonia.

Bhagat, good sugestion. Also, Jairam should know that Kulkarni also took into account 3crores bangla infil trants (encouraged by congress since Fakruddin Ahmed hatched this plot with Indira Gandhi and later Jyoti Basu) which I think has skewed up poverty figures.

How can one issue 'counter' fact, when there is no fact in the first place?
That is the gist of the whole article.

Break the speedometer!
by anand pherwani on Apr 03, 2009 04:10 PM  | Hide replies

Dear Jairam,

Your stand is akin to a person riding a bike over the speed limit, gets hauled up by the authorities, breaks the speedometer, and pleads innocence!

Being part of THE GRAND OLD PARTY, why did you not maintain live data?

As a corrective action, I feel Department of Statistics should be excluded from the purview of the current government and should directly report to the President.

Jairam Ramesh also will soon be ditched like Mani Shankar Aiyer by the Ruling Congress Supremo SG, if he shows too much of intelligence & grit. I pity him from now on.

The situation is different.

Here, a man says according to the police data, a biker was caught speeding.

The police says, there is no such data.

Get it?
