Well done Rediff! These are the articles we want to read. Bihar is truly a "messed up" state. I am certain Indians around the world would like to see Bihar develop. Sadly people like Lalu and Paswan corrupt the minds of the youth and generation after generation in Bihar is faced with adversity and hardship.

I strongly feel, politicians and local caste and guns are resposnsible. Bihar still prodcues or at least up until 2 years before, the largest number of students into IIITs.

Just that their English is influenced by their mother tongue in no way can take the merits from Biharis. THe media is also to be balmed for this. Braodcasting Bihari jokes etc. and belitlling them influences the readers mind who himself doesn't think on an average.

Bihar, the once knowledge epicenter of India is also getting influencded by brain drain. I think people must do a mutiny kind of thing in 1857 to rebel against the killings, kidnapping, extortion that is abound there.

There are still worser problems in other states which do not get highlighted. While Bihar is also plagued by Naxalism worser than any other state.

It will take time, but i think there are more industries in Bihar which the state has to capitalise on.

Regards,
Balu.
