Will this change Amberish's ideas?
by shapras on Feb 17, 2005 12:54 AM

All over the world, the rich exploit the poor. In India, caste is a convenient stick for leftist "intellectuals" to beat Hinduism and India with. Will Amberish finally shed his notions of a "Sanskritied elite" holding the lower castes to ransom?

ALOK KUMAR
Bihar can become spritiual and education land again
by ALOK KUMAR on Feb 17, 2005 12:17 AM

Every great civilisation will fall some day, thats the History of Bihar. It was a great spritiual, political, economical centre of world (in present context like America). It was a great place for the spritiual master like great Boodha,Mahavira, sanjay bellithput,Makhali goshalak,Ajit keshkamblin etc.But now we lost every thing.
The main problem in Bihar is lack of meditation, attention and love. Some body wants to become 'Angulimal daku' but no body wants to be Boodha.
There is need for creation of a Life, full of colour, enjoy, kind heart towards poor people. But it will not possible untill industrialisation of every district of Bihar.
There is need to develope road to connect villages to the city so that agricultural product will get right price to help poor people to develop their living standard.
Bihari people should participate in every developing process, they must ask question regarding their position in day to day life. There is need of revolution in the society and meditation for person. They must take decision considering every people position.
There is need of "Krishna" like people to do every works with love, dedication, attentive, above the cast factor ,to respect every people .

S Chaudhuri
Bihar is an example of North Indian politics
by S Chaudhuri on Feb 16, 2005 10:13 PM

Great Article and thanks for bringing up the historical background. The author seems to have conveniently avoided the role of Bihari themselves. The state as a whole is a biggest example of misgovernance and misplaced identity. There is a big component of misplaced Bihari Nationalism and the answer provided is laughable. Bihari's take over trains, physically harrass out of state students in engineering and medical colleges, threaten new employess to leave Bihar... I can go on and on about how difficult I found working in Bihar is from my personal experience. If you're a Marwari, Bengali, South Indian, Oria etc. you can forget about any respect for your profession. So, it wanted a fate of Hindi rastra along with UP and it got the reward of Lalu-ism and Mayavati-ism. And yes, with so much national resources, it is a shame that Bihar alone is not contributing a big percentages to our GNP. Bihar will not change because Bihari's have not and India will suffer for the culture that supports the corrupt marriage of elitists and goondas everywhere in Bihar.

Some Comments

Dear Mr. Gupta,I would like to draw your attention to your associating the cause of Bihar's ills to the much maligned "Bengali Bhadralok".Mr.Gupta,this is a cry of self pity.Casteist politics is the "Vish Briksh" of Bihar.Your pointing towards Bengalis, sends a wrong message and seems to be biased, rather than being researched. One cannot really deny the contribution of Bengal towards Indian nationalism. So first, people have to understand that.Secondly Bengal is the home of thousands, maybe millions of Biharis.Bengalis have absolutely no problems with that.I say Bihar is as much a part of India, as Bengal is.So if there is a law and order problem in Bihar,it's a problem at Bengal's own doorstep. So please be kind enough not to just blame Bengal for all of Bihar's fate.Bihar should rise from the inspiration that it was an ancient center of power of Bharat.Magadh, by its very name resonates in our minds. It's true, due to the overdose of pseudo secularism+Marxism,Indians seem to have momentarily forgotten their ancient nation.Any problem in India can be traced back to this ignorance of the supreme knowledge of our ancestors. So Sanatan Dharma should be our pole star right now!

HIren Bafna
Bihar needs an Icon.
by HIren Bafna on Feb 16, 2005 03:09 PM  | Hide replies

I read the interview and am most surprised by the explanation. Even if whatever he says is agreed upon what can explain the behaviour of current crop of rulers of Bihar? They all are useless. He mentions NBFC and all that crap does he really remember when the last scam happened in Stock Market . It happened in 2001. Did they not invest at that time also. How do you justify the kidnappings even now for something happened in 1993 - 94 ? I have read that Bihar was the best administered state in 1947, so what happened now? These are the same people who move out of their state and perform all over India. So is this analysis really worth its weight. The reality is the Leftist and Socialists have actually destroyed the state as they played havoc with Indian finances and social structure. I feel come what may people will never accept Bafoonery in the name of Social justice etc. You have econimic activity that will lead to justice. Some will win and some will loose. But there will be more chance for more people to grow and more will come above the line.

HIren Bafna rationale sounds convincing
by ramesh on Feb 22, 2005 01:41 AM
Dr gupta rationale did not convince anybody about the real reasons for the sad state of affairs in bihar, as he failed to through light on the core problems instead he gone too deep into a tree ignoring the woods.

Hiren Bafna short reply through a proper light on the read cause that made bihar as it now.

It the people of bihar to be blamed for not electing a proper guys and drag bad guys from the power. It is not the center nor other states to be blamed for their miserable status now

bihar
by bibhu prasad rath on Feb 16, 2005 02:48 PM

congratulations for an analysis of a problem that is better known as BIHAR.but the same conditions produced different results in orissa and west bengal.bihar should not be discussed in isolation. it has to be studied with states like orissa and west bengal that have a common history.when it comes to BIHAR it is always the utter disregard for law that comes to one's mind.as any train enters eastern u.p and BIHAR the crowding (mostly unauthorised)increases
in sleeper class and progressively the situation improves as one moves south wards.i think this disregard for law is visible in all walks of life in BIHAR.

Bihar--- A pitty state
by Manish on Feb 16, 2005 02:21 PM

A good article to read about and every ihari should also read. At the same time they need to really contemplate what exactly they want? Laloo's regime is slowly turning into dynasty and he is making business of it. All indian politician have made politics as their business bring their son , grand sons and so on.
