Undoutedly BJP fell down muchbelow our expectation is beacuse of the Gujurat Issue and leaders after consecutive victory became relaxed and didnot show the effort as they did in last and last elections from grass root levels. One more reason is Bajpayee is though universally accepted the best kind of leader but beacuse of his age may be ..may be..... Anyhow The counts of seats in the lap of BJP in Andhrapradesh, Gujurat and Maharastra were the major reason of down fall of BJP. So the presided reasons behind these states should be scrutated out.
BJP 'Think Tank', blundered in placing 'India Shining', as the central propoganda line. This line would've infuriated the rural masses, who walk 3-4 kms. for drinking water, leave alone shining! The Party has also blundered in alliance management in Tamil Nadu & Andhra. Leaning on Amma, was a Himalayan blunder. Alas, this defective campaign was run in the fair name of Atalji, which is the tragedy.
I agree that over confidence costed BJP. However, there are other factors as well. These are : i) There was a marked difference in the body language, in the dress code, and in the behaviour its leaders. ii) The language used by BJP leaders reflected their arrogant attitude towards other leaders, and towards minority people. iii) The so-called party with a difference, could not show any difference. iv) BJP could not control corruption, criminal activities, un-employment, etc. v) BJP could not focus on basic needs of the people like Roti, Kapada aur Makan, as well as water and power. Poor people can not feel good, rather feel gealous when they saw rich people becoming more rich enjoying facilities like mobile phone, AC vehicles, the shopping maal culture and so on. vi) There focus was on elite group of people rather than poor rural people. That is why no body accepted the Feel Good and India shining slogans. These slogans rather acted as salt on a cut, as people were feeling insecure. vii) People regards Sh. Atal Bihari, but, feel that he is just like a BhismPitama of Mahabharta, who was helpless and bound phsically with Kaurvas (like N.Modi, V katihar, etc.).
The facts revealed after election is amazing but the predictions by exit polls is not totally wrong. NDA lost its Majority only because of TN & AP. It is were they went wrong.
To everybodies knowledge, results in AP were unexpected. And BJP always joins the loosing party in TN ( ofcourse, in all election except in 1999 ). In history of BJP, they have scored more Zeros in TN. These two states changed the fate of BJP.
If these states contributed 60 seats then BJP+ at 240 and Cong+ at 160. And fluctuation found in all other states which is expected. Hope, Congress will also do better.
Please forgive me if I sound a pro BJP,it is a feeling that I cannot overcome.I am sure the results are shocking and appaling.Shocking, because I actually never expected this even in my dreams. But then this is POLITICS. Appaling because of the percentage of the voting in each state. It escapes me, that the people who benefited from BJP's ideas and reforms were unthankful when it came to voting. Lots of my friends were out havin a party, some stayed home and rested and the others had exams. The 5 years that BJP toiled to place this country amongst the very best in terms of GDP,employment etc,in end seemed too little to make the voters happy.I personally believe that it was the animosty in the voters that pulled them to vote against the BJP.The hardwork, integrity and loyalty shown by the government over its tenure was given the marching orders by the public. I respect the public opinion, but at the same time I am ashamed at those educated people who sat at home in their cozy beds with conditioning and looked at exit polls, with beer in one hand and cheese in another. When the bow breaks the cradle will fall;and it has fallen here today.Makers of leaders, think what leaders u are making
