BJP FALL
by Nilofer on May 14, 2004 03:32 PM

Yes I agree 100% that BJP leaders were NOT ONLY overconfidant but rude, loud, and don't care attitude.

They forgot that they came into power by mandate and not of their own capacity. They were busy calling names at Smt. Sonia Gandhi, whereas she was busy meeting common man. She really worked hard. And the results shows it.

BJP OUT OF POWER - GOOD RIDDANCE OF THE OLDIES..

Fortune has blessed BJP
by Aswini Kumar Choudhury on May 14, 2004 03:06 PM

BJP should now understand what is india without sentimental issues like Ajodhya. They neither build temple nor they allow others to build a temple during their tenure.Hindutyo is their main agenda not the developmental issue.Fortune has blessed BJP with other agenda like development but unfortunately they missed oppertunity to utilise instrument in right direction. Now senior leader of BJP should teach a lesson to Naredra Modi,Vinay Katiar,Vekia Naudu,Pramod Mahajan,Arun Jetli etc.

BJP overconfidence
by daksha on May 14, 2004 02:01 PM

I fully agree. If we the statewise results, it is very clear that where BJP was not confident and worked for it has more seats than congress whereas in Gujarat, AP, UP it has taken for granted.

The BJP needs to remember that no matter what advances we make in the world, it has still has about 75 % rural population and their basic needs must be addressed.

Even Lucknow which is a constituency of Vajpayee and capital of UP state is not as developed as cities in south or west. By merely having dominoes, pizza hut coffe cafe day is not sufficient. there are lanes and roads which lacks basic facilties like street light proper conditions to travel. except for lucknowe, all the districts in UP suffers from 16 - 18 hours power cuts.

BJP neneds to remain in touch with ground realities and ask their workers at grassroot level to address basic needs and to meet their demands

overconfidence
by kshama on May 14, 2004 01:20 PM

You may call it overconfidence or not, but the BJP should not have lose it. One should not look at it personally . whether its vajpayeeji or advaniji, just look at the developments taken place in our country from the past few years. What was Delhi 5 years before and whats it now. The best Govt. ever I hv seen is Vajpayee Govt. Of course, they used the public money like hell. but then there is something to see that they used it for us. But what will happen with Cong. Now within three months, we can see the already destructed small dhabaas and juggies are going to take birth again in Sonia's kingdom. God bless all of us!!!!

bjp defeat

nda govt lost golden opportunity of winning the election. they were very well poised for this and the mood was upbeat. they lost due to over confidence. their candidates never bothered to be close to the general public. they could not even tour the full constituency. they never botherned to check the voter list. whether the pro nda voters names are appearing in the voters list or not, if not to include such names. their cadre wants cars for canvassing they never walked on foot for more than 100 meters. their cadres/candidates could not project a friendly face. seating candidates were in their own kingdom. they throught that atal's name will do a magic such names do magic when there is wave or in villages. Actually, in metros people who wanted nda to rule did not vote. everyone especially in metro wanted Mr. Atal behari to be PM again but they could not convince such people to please come out of the house and vote. there was no strategy at the consitutency/polling booth level, no follow up. this my assessment of delhi and satelite towns and based on the feedbck from various people who are staying in such areas.
