It's a shame that BJP made Sonia's foreign origin

as one of the issues to win election. As many

people in Italy donot even know her and also she

is been living in our country for so many years that

means she is as much indian as any person who

is born in India. there shouldn't be double

standards, if she is working for our people than

she should be owened proudly by us. Why we

people say that Mother Terasa was an Indian?

We must give her a chance and as now she has

got this chance after winning the elections she

should live up to the expectations of common

men of India.

Italian National Congress wins the elections
by T.V.S.Sarma on May 13, 2004 08:05 PM

It's good that an Italian can get elected in a country that's so far away, and that's culturally so
different," he said. "Imagine here in Italy, if a foreigner were elected premier!"

Well this excerpt from the report in itself should be an eye opener for all those who havevoted for Congress.
Congress, as the oldest party could not produce a single personality outside of the so called Gandhi family. Nowthey have to import one from Italy.
INC now means Inter National Congress or better still
Italian National Congress

Election response

IT is a shame for BJP to speak about Swadeshi because Swadeshi includes Indian tradition, Indian culture which is there in Indian society. According to Indian culture a woman/girl who marries will become a part of her husbands family. In that context Ms, Sonia is part of Mr Gandhis family which is an Indian family. So if we are respecting Indian culture no question can be raised about Ms Sonia Gandhis Foreign Origin. At this point I strongly feel BJP should understand the proper meaning of Swadeshi

Ms, Gandih
by jagadeesh on May 13, 2004 07:15 PM

Being an Indian, believing in Indian culture I completely accept Ms, Sonia to become Prime Minister of India if it comes to the question of foreign Origin. Because She is sister-in-law of our country .

If Sonia Becomes PM
by Rajesh Mendiratta on May 13, 2004 07:11 PM

It will be one of the most unfortunate event, post independence, if Sonia Gandhi, becomes the PM.

How badly it reflects on the masses of the country, who I believe have got used to being a slave of the destiny, feudalism, Monarchy, White Color.

Why can't we think out of the Box to have Genuine people getting elected from constituencies, rather than their family background, their works in the past then their personalities.

Trust me, it will be a Big shame, if intelligent people, like, Manmohan Singh etc, have to work under a person like Sonia Gandhi.

All of our Political parties, take full advantage of the emotional follishness of the rural masses and irony is, that we become one so easily. We call our patient and forgivefull nature as a Bliss, but this is turning out to be our biggest enemy.

We have lost our appetite to fight for our rights and become a compromising lot.
