even in the US where the majority of population is christians , good friday is not a holiday. the why do we need a holiday for good friday in india? i am not trying to single out a christian day here.. but we do have a lot of non-required holidays like gandhi jayanti or ambedkar jayanti; this is ridiculous. if we continue having holidays on birthdays and death days of politicians we are not far away from the day where a "working day" will be shown in red in our calenders.. really we need to cut down on these i think..
This is utter nonsense. Gujarat has deviated from Indian principles so much, that it doesnt even seem to be a part of it. How about getting rid of some hindu holidays as well ?
I persoanally feel that the removing of the holiday in gujrat is against the catholics, but it isnt affecting the catholics alone. All working people will have to report for work whether they like it or no. ANd the goverment is fully supporting those people who are committing serious attricites againt the minority community. Its high time that the supreme court lissens to the please of the people and makes a unbiased decision. Wat about removing the holiday for diwali or holi and make it a compulsory working holidy ? Is india shining only because its believingin hinduism ? And will any kid believe indian is shining after hearing these crap?
I am surprised at such a caption. Even the US federal govt list of holidays does not have good friday.As usual the media is creating unnecessary issue on this.
