I am really surprised by seeing the statement of Muslims in India. Maximum people are talking about their religion and not about their motherland. First let them consider that India is their motherland, forgetting the religion on the political front. For that matter any political in the name of religion must be banned. eg. Indian Mulim League, Indian union Muslim League,Christian Democratic party, Any political party in the name of hindu religion etc all must be banned. Unity is required. If the unity is there No-Terrorist in any part of our Country can enter .In Pakistan, can any one show or name of any person in political front or sports "Other than a Muslim"In any part of the world, our indian muslim are much free and fairly treated as compare to any other nations. Based on a relegion?????

Guys,
Give a break to this foolish thought and think back...
India is supposed to be a "secular" republic. You are asking India to give more seats for Muslims? Then the state would not be a secular republic. You better delete the word "secular" from the constitution before doing this. Then, what would happen? India would become either a tolerant republic, a percentage republic or hold ur breath... A Hindu republic because the majority are Hindus. Thanku. Why don't you recognize that the present arrangement is the best suited for Muslims and other minorities? Do not try to kill the golden goose just because its giving you one egg per day and you can't afford a Benz with that. I bet if you check, the number of the minority communities involved in public service or NGO's or for that matter even educated will be equally less. So, first please recognize that there are "responsibilities" not just power. You do not put any efforts towards inculcating education(by this I mean modern education) into your masses and then blame the government for that(!?) Just one question... What is the percentage of Muslim students passing out each year in degree exams? Is it in proportion with the %ages?

muslim deprived of political participation
by Ranganathan on Nov 15, 2003 08:21 AM

It is highly ridiculous to say that muslims are deprived of political process because in our country ;the biggest democracy anybody irrespective of religion can take part in the electoral process and if wins can hold the office . All the more only in our country muslims have got a political party called "muslim league".This is when the muslims are not getting their basic rights in any muslim nation like saudi arabia.Furthermore amuslim has held the highest office in the country twice in the past and even now our presnet president of india is a muslim. So ;putting such thoughts the person is trying to secede the country.

Muslims lack representation
by A P Srivastava on Nov 15, 2003 07:33 AM

This is a truth and we have to live with it. After partition of India in 1947 and formation of the state of Pakistan for Muslims it became clear that while Muslims will remain the first class citizens in Pakistan , the Hindus will remain first class citizens in India notwithstanding,India being designateed as social democratic republic. India has not seen a Muslim PM during the past 55 years and hopefully never see one unless vote hungry parties become bent upon selling the country for their own petty interests.Today the world over trend is towards patronising majority religion- Islam in Afghanistan , Pakistan ,Bangladesh, Malaysia,Indonesia etc, Christianity in Italy, UK and USA where a chief Justice of a state was bent upon hanging the photo of ten commandments and anti muslim approach of the political bosses. In this background I do'nt see any wrong in India's majority population seeking the status of more than equals. Such studies are planted by undesirable elements to ultimately seek another partition and dismemberment of India and they should be nipped in the bud. AP Srivastava
