RAYUDU'S RETIREMENT
by Shilpa Mehta on Jul 04, 2019 10:38 AM  | Hide replies

Few FOOL CRICKET FANS & our MEDIA is blaming selection
committee for this fiasco , which is totally WRONG .

Selection committee may have found better players than
Rayudu , hence they might have ignored him .

And moreover - - - NO NEED TO QUESTION : How many games did MSK Prasad played for India OR What was his performance ?? etc etc - - -

AS A CHIEF SELECTOR HIS JOB IS ONLY TO SELECT THE TEAM & NOT GO THERE IN FIELD & PLAY .
A PERSON MAY BE AN ORDINARY PLAYER HIMSELF OR MIGHT NOT HAVE
EVEN PLAYED FOR THE COUNTRY BUT HE CAN SURELY BE VERY GOOD SELECTOR OR EXCELLENT COACH ( Example : Ramakant Archrekar )

Team selection & being good player himself are two totally
aspects .
SO DON'T BE FOOLS BY CRITICIZING SELECTION COMMITTEE .

Madam, Rayudu & Rishabh Pant were the designated backups for the World Cup squad one month ago. When Dhawan got injured, Pant was sent as his replacement. Now when Vijayshankar got injured, logically Rayudu should have been picked.

If Mayank Agarwal is better, then he should have been picked one month ago instead of Rayudu. What Cricket action has taken place in India in this period for the Selectors to suddenly decide that Agarwal is better than Rayudu ? Do you know what M S K Prasad said when the WC squad was picked ? Pant & Rayudu don't have to lose heart, they may still get a chance to play in the WC. And now he does this tomfoolery.

I am not making a case for Rayudu, but he has been treated very unfairly. So please don't make a fool of yourself by calling those who have criticised the Selectors as fools.

where sad to hear, BCCI always ignore south greats middle order batsman's players in big events like World Cup (First Laxman during 2003 world cup now Rayudu in 2019)

Rayudu
by simon seth on Jul 03, 2019 06:09 PM

He was no no great shakes either. But yes, last couple of years he had got some lease of life in his career which was always a checkered one. He had no consistency. This year IPL he hardly scored much despite IPL being batting oriented game. Besides, he could not check his temper with usual run ins with fellow players and officials. He is going the way of Ashwin, Gambhir who used to pick up fights at will in their arrogance.

Baffling selections
by Soumya Kundu on Jul 03, 2019 04:59 PM

It is indeed baffling (a polite word for idiotic) that when the biggest of India's current World Cup woes is the number 4 batsman, how can the selectors be so blind that they can even go into a match with 3 wicketkeepers, but ignore a genuine middle order batsman like Rayudu, who averages 47 in ODIs?

Create opprn for players
by Mahesh Shanbhag on Jul 03, 2019 03:20 PM

We should have different players for different formats eg Test,ODI, 20 -20. . . this way we can give opprn to more players. More captains, more vice captains, more bowlers, more batsmen. This way we can nurture more talents.
We can give more opprn to players like Ambayt Raidu in future.
Also retirement age for players should be brought down to 30 yrs,so more youngsters can be given opprn to play.Even for IPL more local talent should be given the preference.

INDIAN SELECTORS ARE ALWAYS JOKERS
by NITIN RAJ on Jul 03, 2019 03:03 PM  | Hide replies

Indian selection committee was termed as Jokers by veteran cricketer Mohinder Amarnath. Moreover its seen that cricketers who are least experienced get these chairs.Msk prasad, Jatin paranjpe, Devang gandhi, sarandeep singh, just look at them how many of them have played 25 test matches ? None of them. Jatin never played test cricket. Msk played 6 and devang 4 and sarandeep 3.

MSK, Jatin Paranjpe, Devang Gandhi, Sarandeep Singh... how these very ordinary super-flop players can become national selectors? It is high time that BCCI should come out with some criteria (such as 25 ODI/ 10 Tests etc.) to be eligible for national selector.
