Rishab pant has proved his huge ability with bat and gloves. So, dhoni is no more required and he is advised to declare his retirement in all formats of cricket.
Yes so true. Pant's biggest fault he has hit century in overseas against quality bowlers, unlike his predecessor. The rule of waiting for self retirement did not apply to Laxman & Ganguly?
But still , he needs to wait for a few more months OR a year till MSD formally announces his retirement from all formats , at least till WC .
As I repeatedly said earlier also - - No one can drop MSD , not even selection committee . They can only humbly ask MSD - - Sir , what are your plans ??
Even bit out of form MSD is very useful to the team . Pant cannot match with MSD's wicket keeping skills yet. In batting also he may succumb under pressure .
He cannot stump OR run out a batsman like MSD does at lightning refluxes - -
But no issues - - PANT WILL DEVELOP SOON . Ultimately , he has to succeed MSD soon .

Harbajan: In lieu of whom is the question. Dhoni and Karthik are almost equally better keepers and experienced in players - physically fit too. Dhoni is still the best in running between the wickets. Both could play at 4-6th position. Dhoni is a morale booster to top order batsmen - a good guide to the captain when under stress as he normally used to (which affects his batting performance too).
If Rishab is taken as Opener or as alternate opener: We have world class openers at present Rohit & Dhawan and their alternate could be Rahul.
For World Cup we require more allrounders, youngsters, agile & present in great form players. Pant in place of Dhoni,Bumrah,Bhuvi, Pandya,Jaddu,Raider etc etc. Lets not go by past records of players,we want players who will give results on that day.
