No doubt Shasri was good player but not not a fittest 'COACH'. He is not active and looks like a BOOZER. Head Coach should be more active & sportive than the players. Than only he can have command on a team. This man always only praising the captain and passing time.
Shastri has done his job . Under him Team India is NUMBER ONE TEST TEAM in the world & has retained this position .
IS THERE ANYTHING ABOVE NUMBER ONE POSITION ??
NO - - - THEN ??
( Let it be due to home or away series . NUMBER ONE IS NUMBER ONE - - SIMPLE )
What can he do if our batsman failed a bit under English conditions ??
CAN TEACHES BE SACKED , IF STUDENTS FAIL ?? NO - -
And moreover , if Shastri is even replaced , are
we sure India will suddenly became a strong team
& win all tests in ENG/ SA / AUS etc ??
Coach's role is always limited , its upto the players who actually needs to perform on the field .
Otherwise every minnow teams like AFG . IRELAND / UAE / KENYA / SCOTLAND / HONGKONG will suddenly become champions just by hiring WORLD CLASS COACHES - -

coaches role always limited? So how come BCCIO playing crors of rupees to shastri as his fees for his limited role? Do you have any idea about cricket and its dynamics?

when he cannot do anything why he is taking crores of rupee fee.

The coach is mainly concerned with keeping Kohli happy so that his job is safe and secure for the next term The intellectual inputs Shastri gives to Kohli seem to be only restricted to SCREAMING, CURSING and generally boorish behaviour in the name of "EXPRESSING HIMSELF THERE HAS BEEN NO DISCERNIBLE IMPROVEMENT IN TACTICS AND STRATEGIC THINKING ON PART OF KOHLI INSPITE OF REPEATED TEAM FAILURES OF EXACTLY THE SAME TYPE. No change in the dismissal styles of batsmen at all. If the coaxh has to be an independant thinker and contribute to the strategy sessions, Shastri has proved to be REMARKABLY AND CONSISTENTLY USELESS. 3 TOURS HAVE TAKEN PLACE WITHOUT ANY PRACTICE GAMES EITHER BEFORE OR INBETWEEN TEST MATCHES.MOTIVATED TEAM SELECTIONS LIKE REPEATED DROPPING OF PUJARA IS A CASE IN POINT. If the coach does not like the best player after Kohli in the team for reasons other than performance, then there is no reason he should be the coach.
When Kohli and team were questioned on their loss then Anil Kumble was removed as head coach and Shastri brought in. Now both the coach and the captain can never be questioned for failures after failures. It is time to show the doors for Shastri and Virat to step down as captain. People have had enough of the tantrums that both have been throwing which has resulted in the team’s poor performance. Lets us have a coach and captain who can take ownership.
