They can't play spin
by sandeep sharma on Sep 11, 2018 12:03 PM

The days of "Best Players of Spin Bowling" are over. Nathan Loyan, Moeen Ali has troubled Indian Batsmen more than any other batsmen all over the world.

Indian team performance
by Sudarshan Nityananda on Sep 11, 2018 11:53 AM  | Hide replies

Just because KOhli is such a brillinat batsman does not insulate him from critical reveiw of his captaincy skills. THis has to be looked into seriously . His case is similar to Sachin's , who could not be such a good captain and player at the same time.

About Shastri we just have to wait for him to return and say this team is one of the best travellers and has a great track record overseas. Everyone will see the Emperor's new clothes.
He simply has got to be removed.

You are right in assessing VK's captaincy. Indian team will suffer if timely decision to replace him with a new captain is not taken. No coach is good if the captain is not good strategist and lucky too which VK is not.

Shastri is unfit for coaching job
by subramanyam devarakonda on Sep 11, 2018 11:15 AM  | Hide replies

The real culprit is BCCI and Cricket Advisory Committee comprising of Saching, Laxman and Ganguly. The reason is, Coaching job is not easy as said. You need experience of Coaching at least at first class level. And Shastri ji doesn't have experience of coaching even galli cricket team. So the selection of Mr.Shastri as coach is a big joke. He and Kohli ensured ousting of Kumble who could have been big mentor during South Africa and England series. One more mistake done by team management is replacing of Dinesh Karthik with Rishab Pant. DK failed as batsmen but he more experienced Wicket Keeper than Rishab. The result we have seen that Rishab failed both as batsmen and gave many byes behind wicket. Another mistake is continuing Hardik in first four matches where he miserably failed with bat. In his place we could have opted Ravindra Jadeja or extra batsmen Karun Nair. I wondered why Dhawan has been given another chance in final test while we have talented young Prthivi Shaw. Shastri and Khohli are playing with team and promoting players whom they like. Its a failure of Shastri and Kohli and no other player is responsible.

The CAC were not allowed their choice, if u remember, Kohli wanted Ravi in, and Kumble to be kicked out. BCCI didn't hv the guts to object n instructed CAC to keep shut,

If Sachin, Saurav and VVS have no guts to stand up to the BCCI, then they are no loner legends. They are just like normal blokes then

Correction. Main person behind appointment of Shastri was Tendulkar. Ganguly was the only one who objected. It was Ganguly who objected to Shastri and Kumble was appointed. But this time after Virat and shastri ganged up and Tendulkar taking its side along with Laxman Ganguly stayed neutral. If you have to blame anyone blame cricket God Tendulkar for lobbying and forcing the appointment of Shastry

Shastri had kohli and tendulkars backing. Ganguly and Laxman couldnot convince Tendulkar. Rather than creating a scene they didnot object to Tendulkars lobbying tactics

Well said Chakraborty, u hv elaborated my contention in detail. Ganguly was against Shastri's appointment from the beginning, as he had abstained from the coach's interview and was frolicking in Bangkok instead of being serious. Mr.Sudhir, u shd realise calling these pampered lot as legends is in itself laughable. The BCCI is far far away from being rectified, the old sickness still remains chronic.

I understand Ravi Sashtri is choice of Virat Kholi & that's why Anil Kumble is out. Ganguly was against choice of Shastri & you should be aware of that. A cricketer like Kumble who won many tests for India on alone ability & hence he can not continue as yes man.

Arrogance of Kholi, Mediocrity of Shastri
by claudius lazarus on Sep 11, 2018 11:01 AM

Kohli is arrogant and picks only his friends in the team. Shikhar Dhavan was a total failure, yet he featured in the final test. Vihari got only one over in the first innings, kohli was treating him like a nobody. Instead of practice they took a break and went on a holiday...shameless. Kohli seems like playing to please his wife more than to secure a win for the country. There is no introspection, he is casual about every loss. Due to all this England were made to look much better than they really are.

Why not? a 3rd Test cricket team with poor batting talent and poor team Management. One thing, they fought back well after 2-0 down. where are those batsmen-Sachin, Shewag, Ganguli, Dravid, Laxman etc. as batsmen.

Indian captain is just married and wants to have the extended honeymoon. And coach is planning to get married and calculating the expenditure for his second honeymoon. Noe they will drop Dhawan and Rahul, or Rahane for their poor performance and will get ready for next IPL.

He is only good at showing emotions and talking post match. Tactically, he is lacking. It is evident in ODIs where bowlers sometimes directly ask Dhoni instead of going to Kohli, and we all know how good he was in IPL as RCB captain.

NNothing will improve as long as the autocracy of the captain stays. and as long as he is supported by a worthless coach as this.
