We have to recognise that our opening batsmen are not good enough for test cricket in England.Murali Vijay deserves another chance and Prithvi Shaw needs an opportunity.Also Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya do not yet have the maturity to play solid knocks in pressure situations.Saha & Bhubhaneshwar should be selected for the Australia tour.Our bowlers did an excellent job. The selectors need to give chance to Karun Nair and Mayank Agarwal.
It is indeed frustrating with that feeling of 'so near yet so far'. It is really sad India missed a golden opportunity to win in England with the current side by no means a challenging side. There are lot of ifs--if only India had batted well they could have won both the 1st and the 4th test too not just the 3rd.If only Ashwin had bowled well again India could have won the 4th Test and results would be 2-2- going in for the exciting decider. If Virat had not got out....if Pujara had been played in 1st test....there is no end to the Ifs. What is certain is with this level of batting more so the meager opening stand there is no way India could have aspired to win the series. Only Virat and Pujara-Rahane to lesser extent showed some semblance of application but still not good enough to 'cross the line'. Pacers were simply impeccable and even better than the English counterpart. Hardik looks iffy with his inconsistency both with ball and bat. While Hardik can still be long term prospects but he can be dropped for this match in favor of another specialist pacer or Jadeja. Further, given this ground situations there is no option but to take chance with youngster like Prithvi Shaw in place of KL Rahul. Million dollar question is Ashwin? What do you do with a player who refuses to bowl to a plan charted by team management? Drop. But why didn't Ashwin do it ? Watch this space for more on that.

is not like his commentating- certainly not like a tracer bullet. most times shastri looks like someone who could do with sleep after an all night party. shastris lack of cricketing knowledge evident when commentating. it is now showing up in his coaching
