lot of contemporary cricketers have average similar to that of Tendulkar, so it may not be right to call him genius... Only differentiating factor is Tendulkar had a very long career, which resulted in so many runs & centuries.. But purely from average perspective, there are others who were in face better.
As per me Yuvraj & Sehwag are best. Reason, team have won 100% matches when these two have performed. Moreover these two players terrorized the opponent. If Sehwag played for 15 overs then it is all over. No chance for opposite team to win. Same with Yuvraj. Sachin never able to do such thing with any team.
He plays only for himself and records. How many times he converted lossing match to Win for India like vvs. As a captain when he lost series, he blamed BCCI for giving him B grade team.

You are comparing VVS to Sachin ???? Hope you are fine... Sachin was indeed a Genius but definetely not God..
He was the first player to score 10000 runs in ODI, Highest century getter, Highest run getter in ODI and Test.. Played cricket for 24 years. Only a genius can do all this things...

check against which team,on which location and target. At the same time, please check this record for Sehwag and Yuvraj singh in particular. You will get clear facts.

Just check his record in World cup my dear... He has scored century against all teams in the world so there is no question against which match and comparing his records with any ordinary player.... He even scored 200 against a strong bowling team like South Africa..

Only one Instance to your question.. In Hyderabad against Aus India were chasing 350 plus..Sachin played brilliantly and scored 175. but after his dismissal only 15 runs required could not be scored by 4 wickets. so was that century meaningless if other did not do anything..It is the diff between Sachin Era and others..they all have best team to support their efforts but Sachin was alone performer in that Indian side.

In Sharjah sand storm match what was the second best score after Sachin 143.. it was mere 30 odd by VVS chasing 280..and in final second best was 53 by azhar after sachin 134. see the diff between two scores..he single handily scored runs and won matches for India against like of Wasim waqar ambrose walsh Mcgrath gillespie warne murli vaas donald pollack and many more.. Name one bowler in this era which is near to these greats
