Kumble is punishing Nair for scoring a triple cenury and rewarding Rahane for showing consisitently poor performance. Is Kumble running with hare but is infact hunting for the hounds.
Selection should be based on present performance & not on past performance.
If a player should be selected on past performance only then players like Irfan Pathan (He was a match winner in the past),Harbhajan Singh,Gautham Gambhir,etc.
Rahane also not consistent player. He scored all 8 centuries just to secure his place. Not suitable against effecient pace bowlers like Starc & Hazlewood & lyon. Ishant & Rahane remaining in the team only with past performance. In Rohit is also getting lot of support.
Varun Aaron is a far better fast bowler than Ishant & Umesh. Bhuvanesh,Shami are great prospect for Indian Team. Hence Kumble can shut his useless comments.

It looks like kumble is trying for indian whitewash this time. Rahane must play all the tests to accomplish this with great support from Murali Vijay, Rahul, and Ishant Sharma.
1. Comment of Anil Kumble that not adapt to conditions: Were we playing in Australia, for not being able to adapt to conditions?..
2. can\'t overlook Rahane work of last 02 years?: We donot want players at the cost of team best combination and Rahane does not suit to team\'s existing best combination. Better we include Karun or re-call Sachin if to apply the criteria of past performance.
3. Strategy: Has Indian team studied Ausi players? It seems only Ausi team has done this. They took help of Panesar and one of Indian bowlers Sri Ram. They did the practice session at Dubai before coming to India.
Bajji Said if Ausi plays well, they will loose 3-0. Seeing Indian team performance, I am afraid it may backfire.
The coach says a winning combination and we know that they would have gone into Pune Test with this combination.When you see it flop and that too very badly,reputation or past records should not really matter.If not,he should retain the same side and direct them well to winning ways.Sadly bravado seems to take over to cover a listless and pathetic lack of application on the ground.This is always been Indian cricket's bane

He should play ongoing vijay hazare trophy to get back to form. Shreyas Iyer played well against Okeefe, Starc.
May be a good spinner and also good human being but he has coach of Indian team is questionable. He is not dynamic or modern like other coaches of countries. It is present form which is to be considered rather than past reputation. Rahane is unnecessorily supported by him and Kohli. Rahane no dobt a good batsman but in his present poor form he is a liability for the Indian team. We have talented youngsters like Shreyus Iyer, Vrushab Pant and Karun Nair who are in top form and rearing to go. By supporting an out of form Kumble not only spoiling Rahane's career but also careers of several youngsters of India.

Last match's pitch was a bad pitch, you can't have it turn from the 2nd over of the match. It was decided by the toss. There's something in between - sporting pitch....if we are #1, we should be able to play that. Else we don't deserve the Numero Uno tag.
