We Indians are too much critical about our own players aggression
by Hindustani on Sep 03, 2015 04:34 PM  | Hide replies

Why are Indian people making mountain out of a molehill? I know Ishant should have controlled his emotions a little more to avoid match ban.
But having said that, honestly tell me, how many times have you seen the macgrath's & Lee's or Johnson's or English Bowlers or SA bowlers were even warned forget fined or suspended for a match. I have seen more worst encounters or reactions outrageous behaviours from above bowlers than what Ishant did, then why they got away with it? just because they were not from India or Lanka ( or precisely - from third world?).
Even what you mentioned in the article is not always true. Are you saying Wasim Akram, Imran, Hadlee were not angry bowlers?, then you have either didn't watch enough of them or you are just saying it for argument.
The gentlemanly behaviour and goody-goody kind of attitude is not a responsibility of Indian cricketers alone but it should be observed equally worldwide, otherwise it's biased and unfair. We Indians are the most and unnecessary too critical about our own players, if you look at foreign commentators, they never even talk about their fast bowlers reactions, aggression sledging etc., even though they do it plenty but our commentators especially Manjrekar, Harsha Bhogle, sometimes Gavaskar are too much critical and always talk negative about our own players.
Our commentators, senior players etc. must first praise our players then only the world would respect them.

lets support our players
by akella sarma on Sep 03, 2015 05:35 AM

it is unfortunate that we ourselves are exposing our players to criticism by all. if he has to be spoken to, let it be in privacy which will be more effective. in todays world this show of aggression is required. we need not become sitting ducks.

It is perfect behaviour Mr. Bedi
by Parika Gupta on Sep 02, 2015 11:16 PM

Otherwise we would have had to decalare 6 wicket down, like you did fearing for yourself and the other 2 spinners, against the four fearsome bowlers in West Indies.
A perfect behavior or cowardice by you.

by KARAN on Sep 02, 2015 10:52 PM

We are becoming more more crazy country. When we win we act as if we are the lords and the team looses everybody abuses
We must learn to be matured and this victory is against a relatively weak srilankan team and more humility is the need of the hour

Pathetic display against agression!
by seejo paul on Sep 02, 2015 10:37 PM  | Hide replies

Mr. Bedi wat we used to c was the old generation's pathetic display against agression from Australians, South Africans, Pakistanis etc.. Now these pupil this young generation is giving it back. and u c they r getting the results also. Some are saying Ishant is a horrible bowler. correction- he was for some period when he lost his pace and always bowled short. Now he is a completely different bowler. Not afraid to bowl full. He is backing his agression with good performances.

Totally unbecoming n prejudiced comments about Bedi. His observations abt Kohli are equally relevant as evident from the expressions on his face. MSD should be a role model for all these guys, always cool n collected. Sure Kohli will mature in the days to come n proove a good leader, a role model for his team mates.m8N2b

u r saying one shud c MSD as a role model. The worst critic of Dhoni is Bedi himself. If u havent, plz go through his previous comments about Dhoni. I just say everyone shud follow his instincts. If one is gud when he is aggressive, well he shud do that. If one is good when he is calm, then he shud be that. One shud see what works for himself. Here Ishant was great when he was aggressive. Some r gud that way. Remember Zaheer who bowled a magical spell after the jelly been incident. By the way I didnt say a thing abt Bedi. My comment was not about Bedi, it was to Bedi.

Bishen Singh Bedi , should not be heard at all.
by soumyen sarkar on Sep 02, 2015 10:32 PM

This old man B S Bedi should be warned that he is old enough not speak about cricket of2015? He always spoke about the white teams. I don't think his comments are nothing more than street garbage. He hails Australian dirty tricks but speaks against Ishant Sharma. It seems his colonial hang over is not over. His fielding will evoke laughter even among old people, his records are no more remembered. His batting was like that of clown And that old man of stone age is now commenting on Indian cricket. Please don't read garbage of Bedi.

mr bedi\'s comments were uncalled for,i know bedi was one of the best left arm spinner of this time but how many series have he won outside india and to say srilanka was a weak side didn\'t he know that even India is a young side.now we have won a series in lanka after 22 years says it all that not even the likes of sachin savrov shewag and dravid with help of kumble Zahir and bajji could do it.Isn\'t that an achievement.
