Sachin has scored 14 scores between 150 and 200 and another 6 scores of 200 and above. That's a whopping 20 scores of 150 from a total of 51 test centuries. Where is the question of not able to score beyond 100? May be he was not fully utilizing his talents in reaching 300 or above scores but there were very few situations he could have scored above 300. Simple reason being time not enough to play that long considering he came in at 4th position in the batting order. though its Kapil's opinion he is known to speak without proper facts and nothing changed this time also.

Kapil's Comments Against Sachin
by minar chandan on Nov 02, 2015 10:55 PM

What kapil says about Sachin, but then it implement to Mr.Kapil also, when he enter in Test the swing bowling of his was superb, but later on he was nothing, otherwise he would have got he should have at least more than 550 wickets and should have got each match 5 wickets. where was his talent ?

what is ruthless cricket?
by ans on Nov 02, 2015 03:14 PM

not sure what kapil means by 'ruthless' cricket...
sachin is supposed to have played the mumbai style (isn't he from mumbai?) - clean, correct but not 'ruthless'?
if 'ruthless' mean playing for a win mumbai has not done badly - they top the ranji wins(40) and the second best team (karnataka with 8 wins) is not even close.
so what exactly is kapil blabbering?

Just reverse to the statement
by sirisha k on Nov 02, 2015 02:29 PM

Even after his prime age is over yet he continued to play, and frustrated every Indian. For last 2 to 3 years he only played for records. Initially he is a brilliant and power packed player. After money and fame, he only played to elongate his endorsements. See the players of Australia,SA, once they crossed the prime age they retired respectively like Rickey ponting etc. Every body questioned his ethics during last three years of his career.

Kapil & Sachin
by Ramesh PK on Nov 02, 2015 02:23 PM  | Hide replies

With all due respects to these 2 great cricketers of India, I really feel that Sachin had immense talent which now other cricketer in contemporary cricket had.
Having said that, it is also true that he was not regarded in the same league of Lara & Richards.
If Lara & Richards scored, the match was west indies victory, whether it was ODI or test!
One Indian who had that impact on the result of a game was perhaps, Shewag!
I Think, Kapil's statement of comparing Richards, Lara & Sachin is being misinterpreted by people! Media has suceeded in confusing people and making a mountain of a mole.
Here it is to be noted that Kaps has acknowledged the immense talent and his criticism is only to the extent of achieving more considering the talent he possessed!

Proof that Kapil is a compulsory liar
by vidyasagar ayyappan on Nov 02, 2015 02:21 PM

Guess who said this
"You can't contain Sachin's deeds in a statistical frame. He brings unstinted joy to the art of batting. Statistics will happen because cricket is about runs and wickets. But how can you evaluate Sachin's contributions by just counting the number of runs he has scored. To me, he best symbolises the heights an individual can rise to dominate a team sport. Words can never capture the beauty of Sachin's cricket"

yes kapil said it and just because sachin criticized him in his book ("was disappointment as coach")

Kapil and Sachin two good and great cricketers
by bhujanga subannachar on Nov 02, 2015 09:06 AM

There is no doubt that these two personalities are great sports men and their contemporary achievements are whole appreciable. It matters least if Sachin could not score a triple century or above. He played his game in his own dictating and sportive manners. It is to wrong to contradict for not achieving the heights what has been commented and published. Every sports person has bright and dark fringes in their career who should be taken in true sportive spirits. Our media jib towards Dhoni during his failure or flattering during his success are indications of our poor analysis and immature journalism.sports achievements should be judged in the true spirits of the game but not with war winning bias.Encourage sports with development of true cultural spirits with respectable competitive mannerisms but not with nasty jibs which we notice in our media. Sachin and Kapil I trust here after will not indulge in substandard comparisons but contribute effectively with positive spirits

Kapil test record
by Bhasmasur Rakshasa on Nov 01, 2015 10:48 PM  | Hide replies

After 1992, for a full 2 years till 1994/1995, Kapil extended a dead career. As a bowler he was finished by the end of the 1992 season. The most selfish cricketer of his era.
He underperformed in a test match against England cos Gavskar had dropepd him for one test for disciplinary reasons.
434 wickets in 131 tests, in his last 20 tests, he was averaging less than 3 wickets per test. He is the last person who should be casting aspersions on the great Sachin Tendulkar.

Did you forget ten ducks in a row by Ten(duck)er. The whole of India was asking Tendulkar to retire. If it were any other player they would not have be selected for India after 2 or three ducks. Tendulkar was tolerated for a long time till he got his World Cup and during that time it was as if he was somehow playing only to get to his laborious 100 so much so that India had even lost a couple of matches because this great batsman became jittery when he reached his 90s. No doubt Sachin came back and performed better but again he overstayed. Both Kapil and Sachin had their ups and down but do not forget if Kapil had not brought the world cup home in 1983, most of India would still be wondering what is 'Cricket' and how it is played.
