(contd.)Most important the Indian batters are not getting to ‘stay’ long on the wicket for long and it could prove disastrous for team India in the long run if the likes of Kohli, Rahane, Rohit…..bat the way they have done so far in this series. Yes, their application have not been as good as those of Murali Vijay,Pujara etc. who play only TEST cricket and are indeed wanting in their technique but unless they get good batting wickets for first 2 or 3 days how do they stabilize their batting skill ? I think BCCI instead of feeling elated at the series win needs to attend to this problem urgently starting with setting right domestic wickets and adopt an holistic approach before Indian cricket slides down to a new low.

Very measured analyses by Mr. Damodaran. Mr. Shastri fail to understand such tailored pitches for spinners and winning tests, doesn't mean any thing as this indicates India can never win matches abroad. Situation of batters are such that neither they can play swing nor spin. Remember this series has pocketed by spinners only.
He is perfectly correct. One point to mention here is Indian batsmen also struggled in this pitch. Luckily India did not succumb as South Africa did in the first innings and that is major difference ultimately for the result in favour of India
Well said and good blasting by Ravi Shastri..... You are really talking the manner in which all these white skin rascals often do in their country and sometimes in India. Keep it up....Like wine do mature by time. Good Luck and many more wins for India under you Sir.
