we are a incomplete side in world cricket
by Manoj poojary on Jan 31, 2015 06:47 AM

Given the set of bowlers, thier standard is below club cricket.every team has a pace bowler who can consistantly clock the 150 km/hr mark.india has failed to produce fast bowlers due to politics.we have bowlers like buvneshwar kumar, who i feel shud take small run up like kumble and bowl flippers .batsmen just dont respect his 120 mark bowling.such a pathetic sight to see.our selectors have created a set of youngsters like dawan, buvi, jadeja, raina, akxar, patel, etc who are failing in australian conditions.instead should have stick to the old horses viz.shewag,yuvi,gambir,zaheer,harbajan...
The current team wud not even qualify for the super eight stages.it is cleary seen by yesterdays performance.

Dhobi is stoopid
by Ravi Sinha on Jan 31, 2015 12:26 AM

Dhobi is stoopid,it seems purposely he has lost the match to do advertisement back home.even a small child can understand that if spinners are not working better to give it to the fast bowlers. He should be immediately sacked for better world cup

patils shastris bangars...
by veerapuram dharan on Jan 30, 2015 10:08 PM

what have these ex players done like sandeep patl, ravi shastri, sanjay bangar etc to arrest the slide? india usually loses badly in overseas tests but never this bad in ODIs..am sure they might win against pak but they will consider it as lifting the cup itself and then lose steam there on..

Fletcher
by Arsh Hasan on Jan 30, 2015 10:06 PM  | Hide replies

Fletcher provides no direction, no strategy, no inspiration, and no inputs whatsoever.. Should have gotten rid of him a long long time back! The rot if one remembers started when Kirsten left..

I thought shastri had come to override fletcher, perhaps no one in the team knows who is in charge now.

why we failed
by veerapuram dharan on Jan 30, 2015 10:05 PM  | Hide replies

we have not lost to such mediocre english sides in the past, not twice at a stretch. these buttlers and taylors have not won matches against us in the past. then how come we lost? overdose of cricket is the prime cause. we have started to slide down just before the wc..unless there is a miracle from within all these players, we can head back home sooner than expected..

team india
by someone on Jan 30, 2015 09:28 PM

this team cant dream of winning upcoming world cup... they do not have enough confidence and experience... and lots of ego and among seniors and admins.... last WC we had a very strong team... our bowling was not very strong that time also... so we should stop blaming bowling dept... it was batting dept... Tondulkar, Gambhir and yuvraj scored the most... Yuvraj's bowling also helped a lot... you cant bring back TONdulkar... but instead of giving wasted opportunities to dhawan .. we need to bring back these heroes.... Gambhir, Yuvraj, Kohli, Raina, Rohit Sharma, Dhoni & jadeja makes very strong batting line up... with lots of fire power... cant we forget personal disputes and play for team , country?

root cause
by veerapuram dharan on Jan 30, 2015 09:26 PM

there are two prime causes for our debacle, not only in this series but for the past 3 years. one is over dose of cricket. even the other teams play lots of cricket but we are seeing the same faces playing in t20, ODI and test unlike other teams. second, lucrative offers in IPL means the purpose of playing the game changes...

But you play anyone
by C V Suresh Kumar on Jan 30, 2015 08:59 PM

the result is going to be same. We do not need any big players; but players with commitment; who play for the nation as a team with commitment. We lack this in the current bunch of MOST TALENTED (but USELESS PLAYERS)

Deepak Rajan
World Cup team selected
by Deepak Rajan on Jan 30, 2015 08:48 PM

Looking at the performance in the tri series the final 15 selected seems to be questionable. The batting looks fragile and out of sorts. Our best bowlers seem to be Stuart Binny and Mohit Sharma. probably Murali Vijay should have got a look in considering his performances in the test series and he could have opened with Rahane. Mohit sharma could have been chosen in place of either Ishant or Yadav. In the spin department Amit Mishra should have got in the playing 11 as he has an ability to take wickets and is a useful contributor with the bat, Ashwin does not seem to be a threat while bowling and Axar is unable to contribute with the bat. Perhaps Virat could have been made captain as Dhoni has failed with the bat, and with him standing behind the stumps is unable to inspire and guide his bowlers. He could have been of better use as wicket keeper coming in at 1 or 2 down and staying till the 50th over
