Best would be hire Andy Roberts
by Sameer Bhagwat on Jan 28, 2015 02:20 PM

Gavaskar has said that "Roberts is the toughest bowler I ever faced".

Colin Croft has said that "Roberts taught us all we knew...and told us things we did not even know existed".

But racist BCCI will not even consider a black man. Shame shame.

And while the Indians play the fiddle, Australia have hired Murali to teach their kids spin.

Saheer as bowling coach of india
by reghu pillay on Jan 28, 2015 02:03 PM

A good bowler need not be a good coach.Gavaskar though a very good batsman failed as coach/manager of India.Achrekar though not played test match found a player in Sachin and moulded him as a great player.so let"s not plead emotionally

change the board
by veerapuram dharan on Jan 28, 2015 01:32 PM

changing the coach, selectors, captain is not the solution. changing the authoritarian board president is the solution. because of srini, he has developed a coterie around him who always nods for what ever decision he used to make. its because of him, even dhoni has become authoritarian. the sooner we get a broad minded board president, indian cricket will improve. exactly when srini took over, our debacle started in the last 3 years..even zaheer cant do wonders in the present situation..

Zaheer as coach

Good bowler does not mean a good coach. Also Zaheers man magement skills are suspect. Even as a bowler he was quite laid back even missing practice sessions. His fitness is always a ? . Why are people suggesting such vested interest names?

A lost cause!

Finding or even hoping to find pace bowlers from India is a lost cause. Ain't this a well known fact?

Joke of the Year
by Ashok Kumar on Jan 28, 2015 12:44 PM

Zaheen himself lacked the dedication when he played the game. His of field activities kept him unfit for most part of his career. I wonder how an ex-bowler of his attitude could help current crop which also lacks attitude to succeed and the brains to plan the attack.

Javagal Srinath would be the best bet (should he be willing) from the experience point of view. But Srinath was always a soft spoken man. So how many of the current bowlers will actually listen to his advise will be a big question mark.

This guy was a nightmate for batsmen in South Africa, a real pace bowler and will be great as a coach
