Australia series
by srirama chandra rao on Jan 11, 2015 09:23 AM

It was pretty close in the ultimate analysis in first test and third test. It is the middle order sudden collapse which let down India. We are not able to get good No. 6 batsmen and some how who ever plays he is a failure be it Rohit, Raina or even Rahul who failed in no.6 positions shined as opener in this test. Bowling department has to be taken care by spotting fresh faces. There is always a difference playing in domestic season and playing abroad in those pacer friendly pitches. Pitches have to be laid down putting the same conditions for seam bowlers. THat is the solution

Bowlers let us down
by raja r on Jan 11, 2015 08:25 AM  | Hide replies

Why did not the team management did not pick five bowlers? It is but natural that we strengthen the weak link. Why Gavaskar did not highlight the poor slip catching which robbed our bowlers precious early wickets. Kohli was one of the major culprits. The batting revolved around Kohli, Vijay and Rahane. All other batsmen were pedestrian. Hence, they insured this by taking an extra batsman who did contributed nothing.

Indian team should learn from Karnataka Ranji bowlers, they are consistently taking 20 wickets in every match they play
VinayKumar has led his bowlers well, they won Ranji Championship last year , as well as the limited over version, they defeated even Rest of India(ROI), due to politics in selection, not even a single Karnataka bowler represented Indian bowling attack in Australia

to some extent it is the failure of late middle order and sudden collapse of batting from two down to 6 down or 7 down in a span of 30, 40 runs is the major cause for down fall where as Australian players piled up their innings by even lower order batsmen. It is not the failure of bowlers completely as they were able to get the top order quickly but their late order and lower order played innings of substance. That is the major difference. In the final test, our lower order atleast shown some potential by Aswin, Kumar and that is why we are able to save the test this time

Its not the Pace alone which matters, it is the variety and ability to work on a plan to take wicket

At least someone is accepting the fact that Indian bowling suuuuccckkks big time.

Except Ashwin all are "Spray and Pray" type of bowlers.

Forget pace, we cannot produce good spinners these days
by Girish K on Jan 11, 2015 06:03 AM

Thanks to IPL, the quality of spin bowling in India is at its lowest. Also, the selectors are giving needless priority to height and pace -- while they are good to have, they cannot beat the need for accuracy and ability to move the ball both ways.

Umesh and Varun Aaron are not fit for international level. I am OK with the rest of them, since the nation is just unable to produce top talent. Maybe Mohit Sharma deserves to be in.

10/10 for VIRAT in first test for both innings centuries
by pravin sarode on Jan 11, 2015 05:36 AM

3/10 for second test as dhoni failed to get work done from his deputy again in test version
9.5 for third test as century in 1st innings
9.3 for last test as century in 1st innings
so all news papers please give 10/10 percentile marks on performance to each player and see the wrong selection criterio of BCCI
