Can you compare Sachin - Sehwag vs Nohit - Dhawan..
Some one should injure Dhawan with the half stump and replace him with Gambhir or Vijay soon..

TENDULKAR VS. DRAVID
by Supriyo Chaudhuri on Feb 13, 2015 07:49 PM  | Hide replies

I do not quite understand this hysteria about Tendulkar. If Rahul Dravid had had 200 test matches to play instead of something like 165 he would have scored more than 51 test centuries. Sachin just does not have records like Bradman, Dravid, Gavaskar etc. He started his career at 15 whereas Dravid began at 24.

No one stopped Dravid to play 200 tests.. I agree Dravid is very good player but Sachin is great too.

Here's the difference between them. Against the top 2 attacks of their time away from home -

in Aus - Tendulkar (53.20), Dravid (41.64)

in SA - Tendulkar (46.44), Dravid (29.71)

Add to that, Sachin averages better than Dravid, which means even if Dravid would have played 200 Tests, he would have scored less runs than Tendulkar.

What are you talking? Tendulkar does not have record like Bradman, Gavaskar? You ask Bradman or Gavaskar and both will say he is best bastman in world.

Bradman himself had said that Sachin bats like him. He was especially invited.

He has broken record of both Gavaskar & Don.

No. Not at all
by crusaderzz on Feb 13, 2015 06:54 PM  | Hide replies

Not at all. He was a much hyped cricketer who played more for personal records.
Never a match winner, his big knocks came only in inconsequential matches or no - pressure situations.
Well all we would miss is a disciplined cricketer, who played for so long and kept himself fit, and yes a completely non - controversial cricketer.

sachin's absence
by VARADAN NARAYANAN on Feb 13, 2015 05:34 PM

No doubt Sachin Tendulkar was a genius and gifted played. But at the same time it does not mean that India cannot win without him. His time has come and retired from the scene.

West indies had almost the same team which won the World cup in 1975 & 1979 but failed in 1983. Even they could not progress it to semis' in 1987 inspite of a brilliant knock by King Richards against the then minnows Srilanka.

It'a question of who playes better cricket on the given day has a fair chance of winning.

I wish MSD & boys to repeat what they have achieved in 2011

Why Sachin? we are missing the last eithy team status toot
by cnrgpal on Feb 13, 2015 05:08 PM  | Hide replies

India is not only missing Tendulkar but also world cup last 8 team status this time. We wiont be in the last 8 teams.Take it has granted.
Sehwag,Gambhir, Yuvraj etc sitting outside and Dhawan, etc are in team. Even Gos is not capable of saving our prresent team with the biased selection.

True, its a team game... and Iam not sure if Dhawan played it or not, otherwise there were other players who contributed significantly...
Especially Yuvraj, who was Player of the tournament. Zaheer Khan highest wicket taker. Gamobhir, played key role in final match as he usually does.. though not that big, the tone set by Sehwag with the small score in semi-finals against PAK was significant. And in finals, MSD showed what he can do even in moments of high pressure..
