by cnrgpal on Feb 13, 2015 05:08 PM  | Hide replies

India is not only missing Tendulkar but also world cup last 8 team status this time. We wiont be in the last 8 teams.Take it has granted.
Sehwag,Gambhir, Yuvraj etc sitting outside and Dhawan, etc are in team. Even Gos is not capable of saving our prresent team with the biased selection.

True, its a team game... and Iam not sure if Dhawan played it or not, otherwise there were other players who contributed significantly...
Especially Yuvraj, who was Player of the tournament. Zaheer Khan highest wicket taker. Gamobhir, played key role in final match as he usually does.. though not that big, the tone set by Sehwag with the small score in semi-finals against PAK was significant. And in finals, MSD showed what he can do even in moments of high pressure..

missing Tendulkar

With Tendulkar we won only in 2011 not earlier cups in his 24 years of international cricket with five or six world cups. let us not overreact to the situation though he is an outstanding cricketer.

No team won 6 WCs so far... India was never strong in its bowling department like Australia...
Nevertheless, its a matter of a team playing better in that tournament... as we had seen SA never reaching finals in last 6 WCs... and that doesn't mean they never had good or great players..

missing Tendulkar

It is not Tendulkar alone in that way we miss Yuvraj, Sehwag etc., But present young team is capable of replicating their seniors performance provided they come good to their true potential especially Dhawan, Kohli. We have players like Rahane, Rohit, KOHLI, Raina, Dhoni who can change the complexion of the game on their day. Let us encourage the team to do their best instead of talking about past players always

He was highest run-scorer for India then, and second in the tournament...
And obviously his presence in the team, and positive imapact on rest of the team can't be denied..

1983 was won without Sachin, 2011 was won without Kapil. So, MSD & co should not miss Sachin if they harper any hopes of retaining the cup. They can still make it. My gut feeling.
