Just remove Dhoni from all 3 formats and India will start winning again. Just Dhoni's meere presence in dressing room is a hitler factor and demoralies many players. Dhoni now is a bad keeper, as known he is the captain who has no sense at al in cricket and further he is corrupt and selfish.
Fletcher should be dropped. We should get Graham Smita, Ex-SA captain as our batting coach & a specialized bowling coach for our bowlers. Our bowlers have speed but lack technical know how for smart bowling.
India has lost 2 matches where England has scored high (1 ODI of 280 & 1 T20 of 180) , India has failed to chase these scores.
Now, after Shastri took over what is changed in indian cricket team? I see nothing - same results. Regarding moral boost, a teleconf from Dravid/Sachin was enough, I don't think team needed a special director in ODI/T20 formats!!
The REAL CHALLENGE would be - let Ravi take Aussies Tests. But he already said NO to it is the news, if this is true, then all his speech that when team is in difficult times then he said FINE to take over for ODI etc is worthless.
He is doing a quid pro quo by giving good reports about support team & coach at the same time he is seeking support from Dhoni & co to continue - if all the team including support was good & rated high then why team failed in TEST matches?
For me, a candidate who wants to take overseas test responsibility is a value add even at 2Cr per year contract to team India, not the ones who wants to join bandwagon of the ODI/T20 wins and earn taking no additional responsibilities but by just being loyal to BCCI.

Ravi Shastri is the most opportunistic individual. He is selfish. He always has kept Teams interests aside. He is not worth at all. He is gaining the positions thru sycophancy.

ofcourse indian coach is much better. but really you want to improve, you have to improve -fielding -crisis situation batting - all must practise hitting 6s and 4s -bowlers must learn new tricks. aussies dont like real spinner in ODIs like example piyush chawla.this is esp true when pressure situation. zadeja and ashwin good but their repertoire is limited -also must peak in right time.no point hitting double tons against minnows and then lose when in knockout stage
The question is not if Shastri 'should' continue but that If Shastri ‘must’ continue and the answer is a big YES. Shastri has undoubtedly proved himself as the smart man manager indeed the way he has taken along an ineffective Duncan Fletcher on the one hand and a dominating but erratic captain on the other besides motivating a demoralized side post Test series humiliations. The very fact that Shastri has good words for Fletcher indicates a good chemistry between the two and perhaps wants Fletcher to stay more as the technical assistant to help out with ‘techniques’ to individual players which Shastri himself perhaps is not adequately equipped to do. So Fletcher can be continued as long as Shastri wants and he himself too continues. However only Fletcher w/o Shastri, NO. In fact Shastri is needed as much to keep an erratic captain on a sane track to ensure repeat of those weird decisions seen during Test matches do not happen. Besides, Shastri is able to do where both Fletcher and Dhoni seem to have been found wanting. That of the pep talk and the art of motivating players as many players have vouched during talk to press. So Shastri-Fletcher-Dhoni combination could indeed be helpful till WC.
The change in Team India's fortune in ODI series cannot be attributed to Shastri. In ODI India is a strong force to reckon with so even if Shastri is discontinued it will not matter much. They may consider a good motivator like Ganguly or a accomplished and competent cricketer like Dravid
