Very Sad , My Condolence with Hughes family and friens ! All Cricket playing nation players and boards shd amend their playing strategy and also the too bouncy pitches they make ! You are meeting to play ,for fun ,for sports ,for goodwill ! Why to test the batsman very often to save his head /chest and other body parts for rising deliverys ! Yes this is one of the test but shd be done occasionaly ! For getting 01 off wicket with bouncer this is done ,there are many many other deliverys that can take wickets.
It's painful to hear the news. Batting on 63 you would be expecting a call to national team and would never knew this is my last innings. Poor lad, may his soul rest in peace and his family overcome this unbearable loss. You still want to call cricket a gentleman's game? That aura is already lost. Body line bowling, sledging, verbal exchanges on field, match fixing and now people like Srinivasan and boys have killed the game called cricket. It's no more a game it's only one way of making money in all possible means. Once a die-hard fan, I hate this game now.
What a tragedy! All hardcore cricket fans, the world over, felt shock waves for the past couple of days. All of us wished for his speedy recovery but Alas, Phil couldn't pull it through..
An all over debate will start again soon on things ranging from technique to helmet design to intimidation bowling and so on..
With Phil's shock death, the forthcoming Indo-Aus tour will be under cloud for sure, with no one in the mood to play.
ICC must immediately focus on complete protection of a batsman including comprehensive vulnerability analysis and possible life threatening situations.
Rest in peace Phil Hughes. Sympathies with his family..
