so most the times sachin did get the team he wanted...only on certain occasions he did not get the team he wanted...still such a bad record as a captain...

and anyway did he consider himself as a selector? it is selectors job to chose players not captain's....

He was earning enough by doing acting and ads..why to take unnecessary tension of captaincy..he did..what any greedy and selfish person would have done..build own personal records at the cost of team..

Midon or Midwicket
by Adarsh Deshmukh on Nov 06, 2014 12:31 PM

When he was the captain a keen observer might have noticed that while most captains take filed position in first or second slip,he invariably took position behind the bowlers elbow either at Midon or Midwicket, particulary against pacers and then constantly trying to speak to them after each delivery.

It looked quite queer to any discerning observer of cricket.

Why Tendulkar gave up India's captaincy

Because after all he is a Marathi person who does not like to take cumbersome and uncomfortable responsibilities of leading a sports team!

He is more content with his Varan-Bhath and subsequent high noon siestas!

There is no need to analyze this decision!

Just look at the Marathi people living in Mumbai!

They have been surpassed in achievements and acquisition of wealth and property by outsiders who came to Mumbai with little or nothing!

Why would Ten Dull Car be any different?!

gave up captaincy coz of his sheer incompetence and complete lack of leadership qualities and clear understanding of the game. He could bat, bowl a bit but lacked strategic thinking which was amply displayed during the entire tenure of his awful captaincy.

I guess the lowest point for him as a person was that he failed Vinod Kambli as a person, player and friend.

Whatever Kambli got or became was mainly due to Tendulkar. Entry in the national team was probably on his own, but Kambli played way too long then he would have if he was not Tendulkar's friend. What do you expect Tendulkar to do? Spoon feed Kambli?

Kambli couldn't manage the turmoils in his personal life from affecting his game. Take Dravid - was hopeless in the one day format and was dropped. Ganguly gave him the gloves and told him to keep. He took the opportunity but took the kind gesture from Ganguly as an insult and waited for his time. Dravid struck when Chappel became coach. Had immense respect for Dravid but the guy turned out to be such a sad loser. Admire Dravids game but loathe him as a person.

even though kambli himself is to be blamed for his wayward ways...the fact remains that when kambli was originally dropped from one day side going to sharjah...sachin made a lot of noise and got him included in the team.....only later to not take him in even one one day even though he was the captain...wonder why he made all that noise originally when kamble was not chosen...if he himself was not going to include him in the playing eleven!
