I know a person who is a school drop out and started a small business at a very difficult time in his life. He used to walk from his home to the shop which is about 4 Kms. Today, he has become very sucessful, owning a couple of aprtments, owns the shop and has 10 employees under him.
Despite the huge success in his life, even today, he walks to his office. Don't you think he can be a role model?

a degree/no degree is totally irrelevant 'quality' in a person who is a potential role model.
You were only highlighting the negatives that we and many others had posted about Sachin.Ignoring the negatives, don't you think he is a good role model for anybody just on his plus points? I mean, his dedication, sacrificing all those simple pleasures and focusing on his objective of being accepted as one among the best cricketers?

sachin may come across as selfish to many people, i dont doubt this point. i'm only stating he can be a role model because of what he's achieved. i grew up in the 90s, trust me i know a lot of people who wanted to become the next sachin..if you live in this country you would have come across such people too..
