It does not require great cricket intelligence to prove the extreme poor quality of captaincy of dhoni. In fact, he does not have any clue how to rotate the bowlers and how to place the fielding. Even he does not know where to stand behind the stump at the time of wicket keeping. He feels it is good to stand as much as back from the wicket without judging the pace, bounce of the wicket (which is a primary quality of any wicket keeper of any standard). It is saying that you miss the catch, miss the game. Remember while Indian fielders floored 3 easy catches of Macculam, it was one which was dropped by the wicket keeper dhoni. Had the catch been taken the result would be definite win for India. Wicket keeping is a specialist zone and a good wicket keeper is always an asset of the team. But dhoni is undoubtedly a substandard wicket keeper while the number one wicket keeper has been sitting either on reserve bench or not selected at all. This is extremely unfortunate. Dhoni is a reasonable good middle order batsman, but not a great one as he is very much afraid to up of the batting order to avoid the shine of new ball and pace of the wicket. Regarding captaincy nothing much to be commented as his cricket brain is questionable.

dhoni is a good wicket keeper and has the best stats there too...he has fine record as a captain, as a batsman and as a wicket keeper...before he retires he can even take 1000 wickets behind the stumps...already he has about 600 wickets behind the stumps in international cricket...

He is a great politician no doubt and is indeed jealous of Dhoni. He always wanted to be the big boss which paved the path for his early decline. Of course he is the best left handed batsman that Indian Cricket has witnessed. Any way, no one is perfect. But Dhoni should get out now and Kohli must come in.
Yes, Dhoni is one of the finest captain in the history of Indian Cricket. He do not deserve any blaming of bad captaincy. As every team player is as responsible for defeat as captain. Also most importantly Indian Cricket team needs the good and consistent bowlers. All the selectors, please look into yourselves and stop blaming Dhoni for your failures for selection of the team. And also India is such big country it's really shocking that all of you can not find fine bowlers.
But who selects playing 11? who is influencing the selection of Mvijay/Jadeja/Ashwin/Rohit by discarding Gambhir/Hbajan/Sehwag/Yuvraj?
why was I pandey /A mishra not played in at least last ODI after series is already lost (NWZ & SA both)?
He wants to give anothe chance to his chamchas who failed to perform so that showing this performance he can continue playing for another 10 matches..............what he does is unfair
Rahane/M Tiwari/Ipandey/Amishra/P Rasool list goes on even in the last match of the series where winning & losing will not make any impact on series he still gives his chamchas opportunities by carrying these innosent players series after series..............

Ashwin was not performance in SA so he gave chance to ravidra jadeja who took more than 5 wickets. Now how many spinners have we seen who took that many wickets in overseas.. so he will have to continue with jadeja for few matches to see how he performs. He is trying his best with the combinations and sooner or later he will get the right combination.. To be frank what can any captain do if for 2 days they do not take a main wicket..

we were missing a 4th bowler. in auckland in their 2nd inns we bundled out nz for ~100 runs with 3 bowlers, 'miracles' like that don't happen everyday. (ishant did the unthinkable again in 1st nz inns at the basin) . however, jaddu can't replace a specialist bowler as has been shown in this series. jaddu and other part-timers filling in for the 4th/5th bowler were no problem for nz as they piled on a mammoth score to save the match.

Why are we missing 4th bolwer????? Becuase of Dhoni, Rjadeja is a part time bowler with wicket to wicket bowler which doees not fit inth requirement of TEST CRICKET where you need GENUINE SPINNER with variations. He wanted to play his chamchas to he conveted him as alrounder and put him in team.
This lacks sense, he would have tried Amishra atlest he is genuine spinner and i believe this guy scored better runs than Jadeja outside india

just look at his international and local stats...they are the stats of a specialist bowler...just because he is also a specialist batsman and has scored triple centuries people think that he is a parttimer...

Sunil first you need to two things
1. DEF of SPIN BOWLER: Jadeja is not a spinner he puts the ball in right areas with out any variations. if pitch helps he gets wickets if not he fails. This bowling style is not suitable outside playing
2. Req of TEST BOWLER: You need to be a spinner first and with lot of variations look at the list of Spin bowlers who have been successful outside india. Wrist spinner has more chance of getting turn & if bowler has variations only then he will be successfull

well said kk.analysis on jadeja as a spinner is right.do not compare jadeja agnst kumble.kumble though not a gud spinner of the ball but he plays cricket the hard way ,a much determined bowler who can win matches whereas jadeja is not.that is why kumble had a successful career.every bolwer needs tht kind determination as kumble to be succesful.jadeja doesnt even fall in the ranks of kumble.let him prove himself by taking 600 wickets without turning the ball to be as succesful as kumble.

jadeja took more that 5 wickets in an innings in SA recently do it is fair to say that we can give few more matches to see his performance.. you dont change combination just like that. We dropped Ashwin recently as he was not effective..

I would say whatever Ganguly meant is correct.. I watch cricket so closely.. Long back when Dhoni was made as a test captain after 5 10 matches i felt like dhoni is too defensive.. U need to attack the opposition rather than defending all the time..I have posted this comments even before too.. Dhoni as a keeper batsman is pearl.. So question on his ability..Even in the ODI's against NZL he was so defensive.. In teh 2nd or 3rd match of the ODI series NZL were down by two wickets early in teh innings.. But dhoni opted to bring in ashwin n jaddu into attack immediatley and went for defensive field set.. This helped Kane, Ross to take easy singles which boosted them over 300.. Dhoni didnt even mind to change the fielding at all n it became easy for them to take single

1. Ganguly tought INDIAN team the meaning of agression, look at the AUSTRALIAN team what LEHMAN introducted to AUS is AGRESSION and look at how they are performing now in matter of few months. 2. Ganguly forced Sehwag to opener which solved india's opening problem for long time that is the reason why INDIA became number with advent of Gambhir (Sehwag chaged the face of test cricket). 3. Ganguly forced Dravid to keep wickets which solved india of quality Wk batsman 4. Ganguly backed agressive players like Yuvraj/Zkhan/Sehwag/Hbajan without these guys today you would not be claiming DHONI won the Wcup's/Test No.1 where dhoni has hardly any contributions as player.
Lastly dhoni's tactics are of gambling kind which might work in ODI's or T20 because match can be changed in with in moments but in TEST cricket you need strategies not gimmics
