Both are same fruit of a tree. Both played politics during their captaincy.. Both were defensive

Dhoni and retiremnt from test
by b g on Jan 02, 2015 06:44 AM

It is good for a captain like Dhoni to take a stand on the test series. Making way for a New Captain would give him a better chance to concentrate on T20 and ODI. Let the New man prove his might. Virat looks promising !

Wise decision –
All the Senior Players left and there is no players who can perform and he can’t performance on overseas result continues defeat and High Court after IPL mach fixing any movement reach him. Hence, its wise decision to retire from Test Cricket.
Now, we are also waiting for decision for One Day and 20-20 Cricket before court should reach him.

Guessing the reason for Dhoni's retirement
by Ashish Kumar on Jan 01, 2015 04:08 AM  | Hide replies

No one knows the reason for Dhoni's sudden retirement for sure. Perhaps he was uncomfortable with being superintended over by a much lesser player who is functioning as Director. This Director encouraged Kohli to revolt. Perhaps Dhoni decided to give back a silent slap by retiring in this manner. Before quitting he demonstrated that the Brisbane Test should not have been lost and India should have been only one down. Shastri frustration is evident from utterances which include uncalled for swearing.
If things do not change then, I suspect, Dhoni may not be playing the World Cup, either by retiring or reporting unfit. India should be ready with Plan B.

salute to dhoni...for his gentlemanship for the game.
by Manoj poojary on Dec 31, 2014 09:57 PM

He was not animated and mainted the cool atitude all time. I m proud that the indian players like dravid, laxman, tendulkar earned respect all over the world for thier humble behaviour.dhoni captained nicely though he had failures..and i was also among those who criticise through this platform...today i feel sorry that dhoni is not there any more as a captain.

Captain courageous kudos to you A man of few words and much action, he was strategist par excellence, always cool and balanced, I wish he had continued for some more time but he quit before someone could even hint that he had become dispensable
