Absolutely......and you can't blame Dhoni for the two 4-0 drubbings in England and Australia cos all the 4 seniors were past their prime and one Bharat Ratna winner was playing only for his own selfish records........

A person who gets bharat ratna can never be selfish. Anyways its good Dhoni retired as he was a horrible Test Player. He shud not played a single test. Good he is OUT now.

That Zimbabwe team had players like Andy Flower, Grant Flower, Neil Johnson, Goodwin, Campbell, Heath Streak, Paul Strang.. Much stronger that current Australian team. Under Dada India won series in Pakistan for 1st time. And who can forget his captaincy records against world beater Australian side. It is Dada who developed team India and Dhoni enjoyed the cream. Then when players groomed bya dada left Dhoni's real caliber got exposed. Dhoni has not retired he has been asked to retire unofficially by BCCi

Under Ganguly, India won in srilanka, Pakistan, West Indies, England & Australia. Under Gunguly India Drew test series in England & Australia (India was the better of 2 teams), Won series in Pakistan, Lost series in West Indies & Srilanka (2-1), Lost against New Zealand 1-0 (that is becuase the pitchers were of substandard not suitable for test cricket. matches were ended in 3 days no team scored 250 once.) and lost series in south africa 2-0 (only series India played badly since that was the 1st series outside asia). Just compare that with Dhoni - Lost both england series 4-0 & lost against Australia 4-0 & 2-0, Lost against south aftrica 2-0 and drew 1-1 (2010-11), Newzealand lost 2-0 & won 1-0 and lost against England in Inida 2-1. So it is clear that Dhoni's captaincy was worst if no better. If people still say he is best ever, sorry the stats doesn't show it

do one thing immediately,I say do now. Ask yourself what you have achieved in your life.Post your answer, if you have got one.
Dhoni was samart to realise that this is high time to come out unlike Sachin Tendi ...who kept on dragging for the sake of recod and selfish. Good decision.
MSD is a great leader, There is certainly more than what meets the eyes behind his retirement from Test Cricket -- May be the Present Director and his mentor -- who have been after him for very long. But one thing is for sure -- no one in present set up of the team seems to have the qualities and caliber of MSD and Mr Shashtri is going to make a mess of the Team the way he messed up his own career -- Virat is following his footsteps of Enjoying life rather than following the likes of Sachin, Dravid, MSD . I Hope they ( shashtri and Virat ) are not able to do much damage before they are forced to leave.

you are right about ravi shastri, the bowler bowled on the off side, his leg would be on the leg side and he would attempt to hit a straight drive of a bouncer on the off side. virat is special talent. that went like a tracer of bullet.
A good human, good player & a good captain by all means is the defination of Dhoni-the cricketer. As for the results are concerned-Dhoni cannot bowl for the bowlers,he cannot bat for Dhawan/R Sharma & other non performers..It is the good playing eleven that makes a good captain, each player of team have to understand his role and demand of the time.A player must opt out voluntarily if he is not capable of delivering what is expected of him...In ODIs and T20 Dhoni has many more years to make his contribution, hope he does not fall pray (in future) to similar episodes of IPL/CSK...Better he gives up IPL & put his full energy in International Cricket...All the best my boy....
I am Very Sorry he should not gave up I feel, I feel he was not getting free hand to lead the team. Board should give free team selection and to take his own decesion on the groun. He was playing under pressure, he should play the way he played in Pakistan. He was teh best.
Legendary Wall does not endorse anything or everything. So, once he says something world listens admirably. You can not remember a leader particularly in India in recent times, who lived and left at his own terms. Kudos to MS.
