I guess if dhoni had taken along Meiyappan and some of his India Cements group, we could have won both the tests in Australia. Meiyappan would have "negotiated" with the Aussies like he does in IPL for CSK against all opposition teams.

You are absolutely right. The first IPL final between CSK and Mumbai Indians was fixed in favour of CSK. The last World Cup in India was also fixed; Sri Lanka celarly gave the match away.

And we are such fools that we believe CSK actually wins matches by sheer effort and not Dhoni's and "meiyappan's "connections." People still waste a lot of hard earned money to go and watch such "dhonied" and "meiyappaned" matches in IPL. People can at least spend that money on some good food, clothes, and toys for their children instead of wasting money of these "fixed" matches. So what will the captains and owners of franchisees do to earn "an extra buck?" ....fix the fixture....People, like fools, purchase tickets double, treble, or even 20 times the actual rate of a ticket and watch these dirty games..such is our mindset!
Leave alone the question of Dhoni's Captaincy. I ask simple question from selectors, Does he deserves place in team as player? If he is not the captain, has he been in the team? Answer is no.Dhoni is not a good test batsman. Look his innovative technic of playing across the line to counter the fast bowling which he developed in England. And despite such innovations he has scored any hundred in last three years on foreign soul. How a captain who himself is not a reasonable batsman or bowler can inspire the team? In contrast he is wonderful batsman of one day format that's why India is more competent side in One Dayers.

Yes he does.....He is a fantastic crickter and mentally and physically very strong.......if India are in dire straits, there are only 3 guys in the team who can hold their own under pressure.......Kohli, Dhoni and Rahane.....jhokers like Rohit need to be shown the door.......
Let us not forget the fact that Sourav had both world class fast bowlers and spinners in his squad that could perform well in all conditions and the bowlers always had the backing of one of the best batting lineups. But MSD is leading today is a very, very inexperienced side. Now only some consistency has started coming in both batting and bowling. And this team will need another 2 years to establish itself. The Captain is as good as the team he has. So even though MSD's captaincy skills, as a person on the decline, there is no doubt that this side has the potential to be the side for the next 5-6 years. Sadly, despiting making loads of money, BCCI is only bothered about tighter schedules and not about the preparing palyers for any tour abroad. So results will be difficult to come.

Sir.. your comments, if they are facts, need to be carefully looked into for corrective steps. How long do you think the country must experiment with such bunch of MOST TALENTED BUT USELESS players ? Just look at the winning-losing ratio and its on the decline against all teams and we have reached about 7th ranking, about a couple of test playing nations now below us and the rest all are above us. Whether at home or away, the team keep losing and losing and distracting audience and not only that, the most important part is that IT MAKES THE PEOPLE OF INDIA FEEL ASHAMED OF... Lack of commitment is the best word for these MOST TALENTED BUT USELESS players. No discipline while batting and they bowl as if they do now know how to bowl... no technique or aim while bowling, giving away easy runs and putting all sorts of pressure on the team.... its ridiculous
While the title talks about a revealation...I dont see any detailed investigation in terms of what went wrong and what needs to be corrected. Useless article..as the numbers are well known to all Indians. Rediff should really look at improving the articles.
Dhoni is not good in all aspect when TEST Match is concern....not a good wicket keeper, not a good batsman..and ofcourse not a good captain...finally his famous "luck" also betrays him ...and these facts were true from the begining...
r way ahead in the rankings and they deserve it.and aussies 2nd though nt close to sa.but far far far better than the current indian test team.trying to prove these both teams on par with the losercaptain is ashamel0l.dnt even compare with them.they r deft nt on par with a team ranked solowl0l.growup jealsous fellowl0l
