Indians are so narrow minded and regional
by anand krishnamurthy on Dec 19, 2014 07:44 AM  | Hide replies

Its clear that BCCI president should not own a team. Its also clear that crooks like Lalit Modi, Pawar and Dalmia should not be let anywhere cricket. Sadly, the conversation has become a south india vs North indian

And this is why in 50 years India will be balkanized

So was the case with Ranji..
by Abstract baba on Dec 18, 2014 02:46 PM  | Hide replies

Gavaskar was the captain of India, Mumbai, Ganguly for Bengal and India. The selectors were from different regions and used to push in their people. When G R Vishwanath was the selector there were 7 players from the Karnataka team including class players like Srinath, Kumble and Dravid. I gavaskars team there were atleast 5 from Mumbai. so what is the big deal here.

Judiciary should not be prejudiced against any individual
by ramesh mudaliar on Dec 18, 2014 10:51 AM  | Hide replies

it is saying that agriculture minister should not own land , industries minister should not own factory , government head should not make his offspring to work in a government dept .
a judge should not be judiciary if his relative commits crime .

our country will be a laughing stock , if a prejudiced verdict is given.

Judiciary should not be prejudiced against any individual
by ramesh mudaliar on Dec 18, 2014 10:45 AM

If a relativ of any judge is involved in any wrong doing , then will a judge move out of judiciary , citing conflict of interest , i think they would simply move out of of that particular case , similarly if an individual is involved in betting in IPL , should the head , move out of BCCI , i think the head moving out of IPL related matters would be correct option , instead of quitting BCCI .
If the honourable court decides that the head should be quitting BCCI for no fault of his , then i think it will be a bad precedent in all fields like judiciary , police dept , government offices , mainly politics etc etc .
I hope a judgement will be given by the court keeping everything in consideration

If cricket is in bad shape in INDIA , would the cricket fraternity ( persons with integrity ) like gavaskar , shastri , kumble , kapil dev , prasanna, vishwanath , be only spectators , they would have commented obviously about the wrong things happening .

I think the media and other rival parties (lalit modi and group ) would be making empty noises against srinivasan

Why not?
by Jacob Franklin on Dec 17, 2014 11:02 PM  | Hide replies

In USA presidents, governors, senators are usually wealthy business owners with commercial interest. They want the US economy to improve not just for the country but also for their businesses also. Unless there is proof of some insider trading or malpractice, there shouldn't be a reason why a businessman cannot be an administrator of a public organisation.

Why do you bring US into cricket? US is not ideal in terms of morality anyway. Do you suggest we should have the right to carry guns in India? Or our Election Commission should follow US? Remember how Bush was elected? US is irrelevant here.

In India, SC is unnecessarily poking its nose into Business and Games which is none of their Business, just to show-off their supremacy

This has been happening since the Ranji trophy was being played. Why is the cry coming now? This process was started to stop fixing, unfortunately the main issue is transgressed now.
