i am sorry to say that mr mohapatraISsounding like an apologist for MSD. after being 1-0 up, and then losing spinelessly...everyone knew before hand that this is a 5-test series. so did they prepare adequately? they are just IPL stars fed on money, fame, glitter, glamour. we fans are to blame for giving such weaklings so much adulation

The first excuse listed here is "being an away tour". Since when did being an "away tour" become a valid excuse for defeat, leave alone defeat by abject collapse?

The second excuse listed is "inexperience of the top order". I don't think these people are really so inexperienced. They have been around in international cricket for a long time, in various forms of the game, including Test cricket. And, there is nothing extraordinary in this English bowling attack that requires specialized experience. Moin is a part time spinner who is having amazing success with Indian batsmen, in the very same conditions where Indian spinners are failing. Chris Broad and James Anderson may have had their occassional match winning performances in their careers, but they are not considered bowlers to be dreaded, such as a Steyn or Lee or McGrath or yester-year pacers of Windies. And was not "inexperience" known at every step and every stage? At the time of selecting the team to tour? At the time of preparing for the tour before landing in England? At the practice sessions they had in England? At the time of selecting the playing Eleven? At various times in the match when defeat started looming? At all these times, if "inexperience" was indeed such a big factor, what has the support system done to deal with it? What did the seniors and the coaches and mentors and consultants do to compensate for it?

Happy Friday
to some extent
by Happy Friday on Aug 13, 2014 12:03 AM

he was wrong giving too much of opp to dhawan and nohit for no reasons.. with lack of skills these openers failed miserably and it is better late than it is too late he realize that before wc. Still much better captain with 2 wc win and almost 3rd had yuvi did not mess up on that day. If he fix the openers who can play in Aus/NZ pitches then we still can recover

IPL and Test cricket cant go hand in hand...
by PANKAJ GHOSH on Aug 12, 2014 11:12 PM

Is it purely a coincidence that team India's performance in test cricket took a nose dive ever since the evolution of IPL(2008) and after... ? The reason why India prospered so much during Gangulys era was there was no IPL or T20... just a thought...

Dhoni The lost Icon

now it is clear that MSD is a Confused man.
he cannot captain India any more, it is not affordable for Indian Cricket.
he is in the past & can no more think about winning.
see his field placing & bowling changes it is rarely clicks, but without any cricketting logic, so it is time for BCCI to move ahead with New captain.
