DHONI &CO. HEROES TO ZEROS IN 6 DAYS !
by damodaran mohan on Aug 01, 2014 02:46 PM  | Hide replies

It is the characteristics of going from a high first at Lord's to the lows next at rose bowl! Whatever happened in just 6 days to a young side full of energy and intensity that played an inspired game to bounce out a a listless looking English side in their own backyard ? On the other hand the English led by a struggling Cook who could do nothing right seems to have turned the tables completely crushing the Indians to a humiliating defeat--- spinning them out literally! Now England certainly appears to be on top better placed to win the series with the Indian bowling and batting looking in tatters!Sunil Gavaskar is right that complacency has let Indians down. First, Dhoni inspite of ishant’s unavailability choses to ignore bowling weakness and go defensive to add an extra batsman who fails too!Gavaskar also said that Virat Kohli if he has time should watch old videos of Sachin correcting his problem of fishing outside the off-stump problem!Dhawan too needs a break who under pressure wants to run away to non-striker end taking a risky single resulting in run out!Experts are doubting his technique too on these wickets. So Gambhir is must for the next match with scores at 1-1. Murali Vijay is in good form but he needs to cut off his old habit of ‘tentativeness’.Pujara on the other hand looks overcautious--- even against Moeen ali! Dhoni of course has to stop pushing and plodding. Rohit Sharma ? Take first flight to Mumbai.

Typical Indian mentality . Also we make people heroes out of nothing .If you have to list all time PLAYING xi OF iNDIAN TEAM PLEASE TELL ME IF EVEN ONE WILL BE IN THE TEAM .Medis blitz, telivision converage ,huge monies for brand Ambassadors etc have made them heroes beyond limit also add huge number of Contrversies and scams fixing etc .NZ says they will jail fixers for 7 years we will take them to TV shows and also try our best to put them in LS,RS and Assemblies if ntot make them heads of Charitabl /social trusts . Is there really one hero please

Favortism

Wrong team selection. Dhoni has his favorites in the team and team selection played a big role in the defeat. 1) Jadeja I think does not deserve a place in the test team. If you are taking him as a spinner-- Ashwin is better and if you are taking him a s a batsman Jadeja has one fifty while Ashwin has 2 hundreds. So in both aspects I feel Jadeja does not deserve a place. 2) Dhawan-- woefully short of form but Dhoni persists with him inspite of having Gambhir in the bench. 2 test failures while all others contributed-- Dhawan should have been axed. 3) Rohit Sharma-- hopeless, no temperament to play the longer version-- I don't know how he got a chance. 4) Even on the end of the 3rd day when India needed 50 odd runs to avoid the follow on with 6 overs remaining in the day-- Dhoni was irresponsibly trying to hit some extravagant shots... mind you we had 2 wickets left then... so what was the idea behind that risky shots, I fail to understand. And the useless Harsha Bhogle calls it Dhoni's tactics??? Drop Dhawan and kolhi... Gambhir should be given the chance.

I agree with you entirely . I did not watch the match ( I stopped watching cricket altogether ). It's pretty obvious Dhoni is pushing his favorites even though they have not performed. If Sehwag and Gambhir were given half of these chances the Indian team would have been a different outfit altogether. Dhoni is killing the enthusiasm of cricket lovers . He might be a great captain but his prejudice is killing the love for cricket among many fans.
